Tensions between Coptic Christians and Egypt's Muslim majority have flared time and again [file/EPA]

Egyptian state television says at least one soldier has been killed in riots that erupted in Cairo as Coptic Christians protesting a recent destruction of a church came under attack.
The Coptic Christians were demonstrating outside the state television building in central Cairo on Sunday when they clashed with locals.
A number of military vehicles were set on fire and thick black smoke rose along the Nile outside the state television building.
During the protest, led by several bishops, the demonstrators burnt photos of Mustafa al-Sayed, the governor of Aswan who had said that the church in the village of Marinap had been built illegally.
Al Jazeera's Rawya Rageh, reporting from Cairo, said "utter chaos" prevailed in the centre of the capital.
"It was supposed to be a peaceful protest, demanding that Coptic rights should be fulfilled. But it soon escalated into violence, with people on balconies pelting the demonstrators with stones, clearly disagreeing with the cause of the Coptic demonstrators."
The protesters demanded the governor be sacked and the church rebuilt.
Christians account for around 10 per cent of Egypt's 80-million-strong population. Tensions are not uncommon between them and the country's majority Muslims.
In March, 13 people were killed in sectarian clashes around the Cairo neighbourhood of Manshiyet Nasser, shortly after a church was torched in the village of Sol, south of the capital.

Wait until Sharia comes to a neighborhood near you .....
I guess the atheist will have it easy they are already 1/2 way to evil... The rest of the conversion will be easy for them. Oh yea they will just explain there is a separation of church and state...
The sad part will be those Christians who will give up their life’s here by not converting, but the good part will be their everlasting life with God.
May God protect these Copts. Under Sharia Law as advocated by the new Muslim Brotherhood-influenced Egyptian Government, the Copts are required to be “good Dhimmis.” Being a good Dhimmi means you do not take to the streets and protest.
And to think that some people (think: NJ Gov Chris Christie, MN Dem Congressman Keith Ellison (aka Hakim-Mohammed) — just to name two off the top of my head) do not think Sharia Law is a threat to this country.
Muslim Brotherhood fronts CAIR, MSA, etc., are the enemy within. FBI Director Mueller appears to be their boy (or, “good Dhimmi,” perhaps?). He gets his anti-terrorism training curriculum vetted by them.
Is there no Republican running who gets this? Probably only Rick Santorum. Another Republican who gets it, but who is not running, is John Bolton.
