Herman Cain Schools Yet Another White Journalist Trying to Tell Him What Black People Think
BigJournalism ^ | Joel B. Pollak

On CNN’s State of the Union this morning, host Candy Crowley joined the ranks of white journalists who presume to speak on behalf of black Americans in expressing their alleged skepticism about Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain.

Blaming racism for the economic gap between blacks and whites, Crowley asked Cain whether his success was due to “luck,” or a “loving family,” rather than skill and hard work, which apparently are never enough in our racist society. (Should the government redistribute luck and love?)

Cain took it in stride, pointing out that economic policy is at the root of unemployment for all Americans. While acknowledging that some racism exists, Cain highlighted more important causes of the racial economic gap, such as differences in education and the geographic concentration of blacks in failing cities. He also used Crowley’s questions as an opportunity to discuss his own 9-9-9 plan for tax reform and economic growth.

Yep, Candy Crowley, and all MSM journalists, take it as common knowledge that racism and discrimination are still rampant in our society. They just know it as common knowledge, that black people can’t succeed because of how society has held down minorities.

And they just know that of course all black people find their political home in the Democrat party. So it confuses them to see a black Republican presidential candidate. How did he live the American dream, when he was the victim of racism? How can he be a Republican when we all know that blacks are Democrats? He confounds their news templates in many ways.

It is ABSOLUTELY vital for Liberals to retain racism to maintain their hold on power and control. Liberals refuse to let racism go. Without maintaining racism Liberals lose the power over the lives of many in this country.

In fact, Liberals enslave as many as possible to the bindings of racism so that they can maintain power and control. Liberals are, in fact, the most racist people among us. Liberals like racisim. Racism helps Liberals.

The excerpt didn’t include the part the title referred to:

CROWLEY: And I would say to you an unemployment rate for blacks that is far higher–almost six percent higher, seven percent higher than for whites; a percentage of black incarceration in the nation’s prison systems that is far greater; a lack of–and for all of your skills, is there not some luck in that, I want to ask you that–but, you know, there–I would tell you that minorities, especially African-Americans, can name a lot of things that speak to a certain amount of racism that they can still complain about. And so I wonder if you are taking your good fortune and superimposing it over everyone else, when it doesn’t really apply?

CAIN: Luck is when preparation meets opportunity. That’s what I’ve done all my career. Secondly, I don’t believe racism, in this country today, holds anybody back in a big way. Is there some, are there some elements of racism? Yes. It gets back to if we don’t grow this economy, that is a ripple effect for every economic level. And because blacks are more disproportionately unemployed, they get hit the worst when economic policies don’t work. That’s where it starts. Grow this economy and it’s going to help everybody to get jobs and get back in the workforce.

CROWLEY: But at this very moment, the black jobless rate is sixteen percent–

CAIN: Yes.

CROWLEY: –for everyone it’s 9.1 percent. The black teen unemployment [rate] is 44.2 percent. That can’t just be random luck, can it?

CAIN: It’s not random luck!

CROWLEY: Or bad luck.

CAIN: Or bad luck. It’s failed economic policy!

CROWLEY: But what accounts for the gap?

CAIN: The gap is due to a number of factors. One is a differential in education. Two is a concentration of a lot of blacks in certain areas, like the city of Detroit, where the unemployment rate there is fourteen percent versus the 9.1 percent we have nationally. So if you have a city like Detroit, where they have lost twenty five percent of their population, economically they’ve done nothing but go down, down, down–if we do not boost this national economy, you’re never going to be able to close that gap. So there are a number of factors that cause that differential. But we must start with feeding this economic engine, which is why I have proposed the bold “9-9-9” plan. And, in addition to that, we are developing an empowerment zone feature off of the 9-9-9 platform that I will be announcing shortly.

CROWLEY: But can you be surprised if African-Americans look at you saying, I am, you know, became the CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, you know, I, the–you know didn’t have any advantage, you grew up poor but you had a loving family, it sounds like to me–

CAIN: Yes.

CROWLEY: –others are not so lucky, and they need help. You’ve been critical of the entitlement society, Who–what do you think Americans–black Americans, white Americans, Latino Americans–what are we entitled to, as a society?

CAIN: We are all entitled to an opportunity to be able to go after our definition of the American dream. Everybody’s definition of the American dream is different. You’re owed the opportunity for a level playing field.

CROWLEY: And do blacks have a level playing field right now with whites?

CAIN: Many of them do! Many of them do have a level playing field. I absolutely believe that. Because–not only because of the businesses that I have run, which has had a combination of whites, blacks, Hispanics–you know, we had a total diversity!–but also because of the corporations whose board I’ve served on for the last twenty years. I have seen blacks in middle management move up to top management of some of the biggest corporations in America. They–they were’t held back because of racism. No. People sometimes hold themselves back, because they want to use racism as an excuse for them not being able to achieve what they want to achieve.

Ya, an inconvenient truth we’re not supposed to think about is that 70% of all black babies are born out of wedlock. So the black family has been fractured in the last couple of generations. The family structure just isn’t there.

And if we’re good liberals, we’re supposed to think that the lack of family structure or fathers not being involved is not a problem.

In fact, liberals tend to get offended if anyone ever brings up these family issues.

In this interview, Cain discusses the positive impact 999 will have on inner cities/blacks. There is a transcript below the video.

I know on his website it states 999 “Features a platform to launch properly structured Empowerment Zones to revitalize our inner cities”

That seemed to be what she was trying to imply with the “loving family” stuff. She was TRYING to get Cain to put “loving family” as a cause for his success, at which point the liberals and MSM would jump all over him about the lack of nuclear family structure and how he is “out of touch” with the black community, but Cain didn’t fall for the setup!

I agree with you.

Candy will never understand a self-made man like Herman Cain. Cain’s definition: “Luck is when preparation meets opportunity.” cannot be understood by those who must emotionally believe that the way one look determines one’s success in life.

Hey, Candy: Pull out an untouched picture of J.P. Morgan sometime! He was one of the most successful men America ever produced!

When one reads a barely coherent transcript of questions byTV interviewers such as Crowley, one wonders how they keep their jobs. Cain is so much better at communicating his ideas than this media “professional” does.

“And if we’re good liberals, we’re supposed to think that the lack of family structure or fathers not being involved is not a problem.”

Someone sent me e-mail yesterday. In “The Naked Communist”, written in 1958, it lists points as to how to destroy the US. Dissolution of the family and Christian values were among many that were listed.

These white-guilt, condescending patronizing, lily-white, gated-community, MSM TV libs make me want to puke chunks up of last night’s dinner, I’ll tell ya what. They are just like the Kennedys and LBJ. Want to throw a lot of other people’s money at the black community from a distance to “string it out” on government largesse and lifelong plantation dependence, but would not be caught dead with one of their own relatives marrying an African American nor driving around “the hood” by themselves at night alone.

In the old tv variety show “In Living Color” which made stars out of Damon Wayans and the white guy (I forget his name!), they had a running gag about hard-working black people from the Caribbean. Non-stop work ethic. It wasn't the funniest of their skits (Damon Wayans angry ex-con “Homey the Clown” was the best) but it was really stinging.

Have you ever accidentally driven a guilty white liberal into the ‘hood? My husband and I have! We once drove two friends back from upstate New York and got lost in the South Bronx for a while. While my husband smoothly maneuvered the mean streets, the two honkies in the back keened and moaned with panic.

We still laugh about it to this day. Being polite, our friends have no idea in what low esteem we held them that day.

Candy Crowley is such an utter moron. Another “journalist” who is so smart that she's stupid.

Of course Blacks have high unemployment — they've been uneducated and conferred “victim” status by White Liberals who want to keep them as their economic slaves. Most Blacks are unemployable because White Liberals' “fixes” don't work, except to make them worse off.

Ask Crowley this: “Candy, Blacks have voted 95% for Democrats since the mid 1960s because they were told, ‘We know how to fix all your problems caused by racism.’ It's nearly 50 years later and all these ‘racism-caused’ problems have had hundreds of billions of dollars thrown at them. The Black community hasn't seen their lot improve; in many cases it's gone the other direction.

If you were Black, had consistently been lied to by one political party for nearly 50 years, why should you keep voting for people with such a dismal success record? A business run by Democrat's policies would have gone bankrupt nearly 50 years ago, unless it was stuffed full of taxpayer money.”
