One of these Obamacrats was on the news yesterday saying that F&F was just a continuation of a program the Bush started- Does anyone know what the hell they were talking about?

"Project Gun Runner" was a Bush era ATF program which was designed to catch and prosecute "straw buyers". Purchasers of multiple guns were recruited by ATF agents posing as drug cartel members. The ATF cover story was that they intended to transport the weapons across the border to Mexico. The project resulted in the arrest and conviction of several straw buyers. No guns were allow to cross into Mexico.

"Fast and Furious" used DEA and FBI informants as straw buyers, who were not subject to prosecution and the guns were allowed to cross over to Mexican cartel members.

The main stream media is attempting to confuse the issue by spreading misinformation implying that F&F and Gun Runner are the same program and Bush started it!

PS I believe the early briefing memo's that Holder reportedly saw in 2009 were from project Gun Runner not F&F and that may be his "fig leaf" to hide behind.
