There has long been some violence by Muslims in Egypt against Coptic Christians, and Mubarak seemed largely to ignore it.

But Mubarak was far better than the current situation. The Generals, when it became clear that the Arab Spring could not be prevented and that Obama and the EU supported it, ceased to protect Coptic Christians AT ALL. They simply stood there and let violent fanatics burn churches and kill Christians. They even blocked the police—who behaved better, at least at first—from interfering.

The attack on the Israeli embassy was similar. The military simply stood by for hours, while fanatics assaulted the embassy. Defense of foreign embassies is one of the most basic tasks of the police or military, but the Generals obviously gave orders to stand by and do nothing.

And this is after the U.S. has poured billions of dollars in aid into Egypt ever since Carter arranged the agreement.
Bad enough then, absolutely awful now. And the press stood by and lied, even after one of their members was gang raped.

The repression of Christians and their imminent martyrdom is the back story to the Mombasa Moonbeam's credit-and-glory-hunting on this Arab Spring multinational Fiasco.

If you ever played hockey, you'll recognize the faux-Presidente as a "Goal Tender," i.e., a guy who doesn't skate much, never passes the puck, but just hovers around the goal waiting to grab lucky rebounds or take easy shots.

He is not a leader, but a bystander with a team of spinners who lie in wait to seize upon any opportunity to turn anything that happens to happen into a glory-story for their ridiculous "hero.*"

Democracy my Aunt Fanny. This whole Arab Spring Deal is engineered by jihadists who are co-opting the movement to return the Caliphate and massacre those few Christians who somehow remain in their midst.

*e.g., Some guy in Oshkosh who used to make $35/hr finally scores a pizza-delivery gig at $7/hr-$3.50/gal gas, and this is the "BIG RECOVERY!"
