Univision Accused of Blackmailing Rubio (Media Ignores Muck Raking Against Conservative)
Commentary Magazine ^ | 10/6/11 | A Goodman

This sordid story about Spanish-language news outlet Univision allegedly blackmailing Sen. Marco Rubio is a few days old, but it’s getting renewed attention now that Mitt Romney, Rick Perry and Jon Hunstman announced they’re boycotting Univision’s GOP debate as a protest.

Here’s a quick recap: Over the summer, Univision reportedly contacted Rubio and tried to persuade him to appear on Al Punto, a show hosted by illegal immigration advocate Jorge Ramos. Ramos is a vocal supporter of the DREAM Act; Rubio is a vocal opponent. To make the TV appearance more attractive to Rubio, Univision allegedly sent its investigative team to dig up dirt on the senator’s brother-in-law’s decades-old drug arrest. The station’s executives reportedly suggested if Rubio appeared on the show, the news report on his brother-in-law would disappear.

KEYWORDS: bias; rubio; univision
Rubio opposes rewarding illegal immigration and his family is attacked by the media.

You won't find a DAMN THING about this on South Florida tv "news".

At least one station DID find time to cover a protest AGAINST Marco Rubio, however, as a group of whiners who demanded Hussein's $450 billion tax increase get the senator's vote.

IMHO, Univision shouldn’t even exist in America. It serves to further separate ethnic groups and push the multicultural agenda. This is America, love it or leave it.

Rubio is participating in the hoax concerning Natural Born citizenship. He takes the position that NBC is synonymous with “born a citizen.”

The greatest service he could perform for the country is to announce that he is not an NBC, and then challenge Obama to admit that he is not eligible for the Presidency.

Univision is controlled by the same Mexican guy who owns a huge stake in the New York Times.

Rubio was born in the US. He is qualified to run for the presidency.

I don't know, I've learned a lot from Univision. For example, did you know that there is a terrible fabric shortage in Mexico now, with women the hardest hit? It's true, you can see the consequences of it on Univision every day!

LOL.....I’ve got news for you, the shortage has existed for a long time and seems to have hit the Latin American communities exclusively.

Saying it doesn’t make it so.

So...every president of the US had had both parents born in the US ?

Not parents who were born in the U.S.; both parents who were citizens at the time of his birth.

Except Chester A. Arthur. His father became a citizen after his (Chester’s) birth. Arthur lied about this, and destroyed documents.

According to Chester A. Arthur’s understanding of the Constitution, Rubio is not eligible.

There is no such qualification or disqualification.

You are fond of pontificating, but offer no argument.

I find nothing in the written requirements for political office that mentions parentage. Since there is no evidence to the contrary, I don't have to offer “proof.”

btw; the Chester Arthur story is a hoot. I've seen several goofy renderings of why Rubio can't run for the presidency but this one is a prize winner.

If you insist on reading nothing and knowing nothing, don’t expect to be taken seriously.

That only goes to prove that family values (like extortion) do not stop at the border.

English language television is a good way for immigrants to learn the English language. There are many Spanish immigrants who live in language ghettos such as Los Angeles where they can live for years and never learn English.
