Breaking: Christie to endorse Romney today
Hot Air ^ | OCTOBER 10, 2011 | Ed Morrissey

Posted on 10/11/2011 11:04:13 AM PDT by RobinMasters

The only thing surprising about this is the timing:

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, just one week after definitively announcing he will not run for president in the 2012 race, plans to endorse Mitt Romney for the job Tuesday afternoon, Fox News has learned.

The event is set to take place in Hanover, N.H., the site of the Republican presidential debate being held Tuesday night. The endorsement will be made in advance of the debate.

Marking a fast turnaround for Romney, the endorsement comes one week to the day since Christie called a press conference in Trenton to end once and for all the speculation that he would make a late entrance into the race.

Obamacare must be repealed in 2012. Romney is the only candidate who signed off on universal health care and defends its individual mandate as ardently as a Democrat

Romney does not endorse Obamacare and would sign a law to repeal it. Every single candidate can be made to look like a liberal, including Cain and Palin. Heck, everyone of us could be portrayed as a RINO because we are getting a government check of some sort, smoke weed, have had multiple marriages, support Title IX, had a kid out of wedlock, or whatever.

I do not think Romney can be fairly compared to McCain because McCain regularly sabotaged conservatives. Romney did his best to govern a very liberal state. I think as President Romney will uphold conservative values and sign laws passed by a conservative Congress. Romney is a proven problem solver and lover of the free market, but more importantly, a lover of America. I think a Romney/Cain ticket would be excellent for America.

A week or so ago Christie was the tough conservative that Freepers hoped would enter the race. Today, he is a fat RINO.

So true! I wonder what Freepers will say when Cain endorses Romney? Another vast RINO conspiracy?

It means more money for Romney.

He can try, but I don't think he can buy the primary.

BREAKING: One establishment RINO Republican endorses another RINO Republican... "Meet the 'new boss', same as the old boss!"

The "establishment Republicans" can go suck an egg. If they think for one minute we are going to support, work for, and vote for the MORMON CULT LEADER (Romney is a "Temple Mormon", therefore he is a leader in the CULT), RINO Romney, they are out of their minds!

Go ahead, make Romney the Republican candidate and watch him LOSE! Just like McCain and Dole before him. If he is lucky, Mormon Mit will win UTAH and Mass... good luck with that.

Romney has said plenty of things. He’s been both for and against abortion, gay rights, the stimulus, gun control, and illegal immigration. The sum total of these flip-flops, along with the others I’m not thinking of, is a disturbing lack of character that none of the other candidates shares in.

Why should we entrust the repeal of Obamacare, one of the most important legislative tasks in our lifetime, to a man who has a clear conflict of interest and a history of changing his positions?

I repeat: no respectable conservative would defend an individual mandate. No respectable conservative would sell his soul to blue state liberalism for power. A respectable conservative might abandon liberalism, as Reagan did, but that’s not what Romney is doing here.
