HANOVER, N.H. (AP) -- Presidential candidate Mitt Romney took some less staunchly conservative stands than his rivals in their debate Tuesday night, declaring he can work with "good" Democrats and positioning himself closer to the center in line with his claim that he can draw crucial independent voters in next year's general election.
He even defended portions of the Wall Street bailout, a particular sore point with many conservative voters who will play an important role in choosing the Republican nominee next winter and spring.

There no longer are any “good” Democrats, but there are plenty of crappy Republicans.
Not with the bag he is carrying - there is plenty to attack. How he got this far in the debate shows the obvious - the media is behind him and second, these candidates are not doing their job. Brilliant Newt couldn’t make shreds of him? MB with her mouth? Cain? Nope - they are all in it together. Santorum was the best and did the best, IMO.

Let me tell you this, we better find SOMEBODY that can beat Obama are we are all dead meat. To be sure, Romney is the Slick Willie of the GOP, and he is certainly not my first, second, third, or fourth choice, but anybody that thinks we are just as good with Obama as him is flat out delusional and/or their neo-Nazi LDS hatred has removed their common sense.
Hopefully, Cain, Perry, Gingrich, Bachmann, or Santorum can come up with that Hail Mary pass that will win the WHOLE game (not just the GOP nomination). That is REAL hope and change. The odds are starting to go heavily against that at this point in time.

Actually, I've seen democrats who are better on issues than these two. Huntsman makes my skin crawl and I wanted someone to slap the smirk of Myth Romney last night. The moderators of the debate were in the bag for Romney.

Thats actually a loss my FRiend. Look at your owen name,, Romney banned assault rifles as governmor and is PROUD of it. No male member of Romneys family served in the military back to 1840. How does ANYONE pull THAT off?
What do we do then,, does the GOP oppose their own leader? NO,, no deals. At least if it’s Obama, we can weaken him, and make him own the coming disaster and hopefully rebuild on the ashes.
If the GOP gives us such a man, then THEY are the true problem, even more than Obama. Because what is worse,, the enemy attacking, or the “friend” who destroys your ability for resist the enemy? The true answer is to gut the GOP until they never pull another Scozzafava, Murkowski, or Crist stunt again. That,,,or form TEA into an actual 3rd party.

I saw him one time and I could tell write away that he was a fraud. Hugh is at heart a Statist. Like Romney, he doesn't view government as a necessary evil, but as mechanism to start more programs "to solve problems."
Hugh is a fool who has no understanding of our Founding. Anyone who supports Romney cannot be a conservative. I will NEVER cast a vote for Mitt. I will gladly, with a clear conscience write in someone.

This sounds disturbingly reminiscent of Neville Chamberlain’s naive comments about being able to work with the Nazis.
I want someone who will trample the Democrats and will work to have their ideologies thrown on the ash heap of history. If I wanted someone to work with the Democrats I’d just vote for Obama.
I swear this: I AM NOT VOTING FOR ROMNEY. IF THAT QUISLING WINS THE NOMINATION I STILL WON’T VOTE FOR HIM. I’D RATHER HATE OBAMA WITH A CLEAR CONSCIENCE THAN HATE MYSELF FOR PUTTING ROMNEY IN THE WHITE HOUSE.

To be fair, Reagan was a Democrat as was Zell Miller... there are some good dems out there, they just tend to be hidden by the party
