I think a big part of the problem is that many attractive and eligible conservatives decided not to run. Maybe they know it’s a losing battle?

I don’t know. But if Republicans, in the face of fierce opposition to Obamacare, nominate the one person who adopted essentially the same plan while governor, it will be hard for me to escape the conclusion that either they don’t want to win or don’t deserve to win.

It’s very sad.

I wish I could buy the explanations, but plenty of people ran, and I don’t think the ones who stayed out were world beaters. Who knows, maybe you are right. I think the average voter, even the average republican, pays way less attention to this than we do.
