Senate Republicans Tuesday may have blocked President Obama's jobs bill, but a new poll suggests that's not what a majority of Americans want.

Nearly two-thirds of the respondents to a survey from NBC/Wall Street Journal voiced their approval when pollsters were told them the details of the president's "American Jobs Act"-- including that it would cut payroll taxes, fund new road construction, and extend unemployment benefits. NBC reports that 63 percent of respondents said they favored the bill, with just 32 percent opposing it.

Americans, unlike the Senate, approve of Obama’s jobs bill, poll says

Well.....they didn't ask me.

The poll, which has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points is set for release Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. ET.

On NBC's Nightly News, of course, since it's their poll. Looks like GE handed down some marching orders to pay back The Won.

Should be the obama "union bribes bill"...

This is total trash and everyone - except the liberal media - knows it.

democrats and republicans alike did NOT vote for the stupid thing because they know their phones would have melted off the desk the next day and they would be job-hunting in November, 2012.

THAT is the only poll that counts.

Did they bother to ask the people what exactly Obama’s “jobs bill” was? I would bet not one could name anything in the bill.

NBC reports that 63 percent of respondents said they favored the bill....

If true, we've clearly reached the tipping point.

FNC has a “crawl” tonight saying that the majority of “americans” believe that the country is on the “wrong track”. Therefore, 48% say they will vote for commie ‘RATS while only 40% say they will vote for a Republican. I think we’re on the “high speed rail” to Commieville.

I would fear an attack by a flock of flying pigs before I would believe one of their polls.

When asked simply if Congress should pass the legislation or not, 30 percent of respondents answer yes, while 22 percent say no; 44 percent have no opinion. But when the legislation's details are included in a follow-up question -- that it would cut payroll taxes, fund new road construction, extend unemployment benefits, and that it would be paid for by increasing taxes on the wealthy -- 63 percent say they favor the bill and 32 percent oppose it. What's more, 64 percent of respondents agree with the statement that it is a "good idea" to raise taxes on the wealthy and corporations, because they should pay their fair share and can afford to pay more to help fund programs and government operations.

Yeah. NBC wasn't fishing for a result here were they with their push poll. Good luck with this shabby poll to prop up your loser Marxist.

I remember fondly how the nonpartisan MFM pumped up the headlines about how the majority of Americans polled disapproved of the Obamacare bill.

Wait, wut?

Too bad for NBC they can't contact every household in the USA to read them their talking points. In the end the poll proves the job's bill is another loser for Obama.

Missed it - did the Democrats have a majority of votes to pass the ‘union looting working people bill’? Because, controlling the house, I can’t see the downside letting liberals vote on record for higher taxes.

Or is the truth that Democrats sunk their own bill?

A fake poll. The were TOLD the details, based on their interpretation.

“If I told you that Obama’s jobs bill saves children from starvation, ensures everyone gets a 10% raise, and puts a flying unicorn in every driveway - all while reducing the deficit - would you support it then?”

Of couse, the Senate knows what is in it; and ‘Americans’ do not. But that couldn’t be it; right?

Most Americans have no clue that this really isn’t a “jobs” bill because the GD media won’t tell the truth.

Phhhtt. Take every questioner and use a qualifier. Should the government be in charge of the economy. That’s all. Obama is doing as he said he would during his campaign. These polls are meaningless to me.
