"Nothing good ever comes from drugs".
As I said, PLENTY of good comes from drugs. You want to blame the weakness of man on the drugs....like blaming the gun for the murder. Yes, they are seductive for some people...but so is power of holding peoples lives in their hands at the point of a gun for others.
"It's sad that you've seen the effects of drug use firsthand but still choose to be a fool."
No. I am not a fool. I, however, will allow others the freedom to be fools themselves.
No. I am not a fool. Nor am I foolish enough to think that fools will be deterred by foolish laws. Like gun laws, the drug laws only actually hurt the "least guilty" and innocent. The cartels and producers endure.
No. I am not a fool. Nor am I a fool enough to entrust a government with that much power.
As I've said many times:
Go ask your average high school Senior to get you some pot, meth, ecstasy or other drug - and they can probably get it within 15 minutes.
Go ask them to get you a six pack of beer and they will have MUCH more trouble. Heck, it's easier for them to get drugs than friggin' CIGARETTES!!
Why?...It's legal and regulated.
So, while it may make you feel better and safer and more morally upstanding, the actual truth is that you work to erode freedom with laws that are not only tyrannical, they actually completely fail to achieve their purpose! In fact, they actually achieve the opposite of their intent.
I also must have more faith in my fellow men.
In the same way I trust my fellow citizens to carry guns everywhere I go - which can be used to directly kill me (although illegal in my state(sigh)), I also trust them with drugs (which CAN'T harm me directly).
I have never understood that "logic".
The misconception seems to be that this "fact" constitutes establishment of an enumerated power.
