When the one young man “the block” spoke against Lewis, there was one young woman who spoke up for Lewis and asked for him to speak. She knew who he was and even stated that he was Rep. John Lewis. The rest didn’t care.
Maybe, in the end, all of this “occupy wallstreet” will end, because of the youth’s ignorance.
One thing I do know... this is NOT going to be a national party, like the TeaParty, no matter how fervently Christiane Amanpour wishes that it will be.
The uniformly repeat-after-me chanting group liked another woman’s suggestion that “nobody is better than anybody else, so why should we listen to Lewis as if he’s better?”
“The rest didn’t care” was a deliberate philosophical choice, not simple ignorance.
