NYC official: Protest cleanup is being postponed
AP/Yahoo ^ | October 14, 2011 | KAREN MATTHEWS

Posted on 10/14/2011 4:03:45 AM PDT by lowbridge

The cleanup of a plaza in lower Manhattan where protesters have been camped out for a month was postponed early Friday, sending cheers up from a crowd that had feared the effort was merely a pretext to evict them.

Deputy Mayor Cas Holloway said the owners of the private park, Brookfield Office Properties, had put off the cleaning, scheduled for 7 a.m. More than hour beforehand, supporters of the protesters had started streaming into the park, creating a crowd of several hundred chanting people.

A confrontation between police and protesters, who had vowed to stay put through civil disobedience, had been feared. Boisterous cheers floated up from the crowds as the announcement of the postponement circulated, and protesters began polling each other on whether to make an immediate march to Wall Street, a few blocks away.

Bloomberg's Significant Other is on the board of Brookfield, which owns this property...

Brookfield just got Umpteen Diddly dollars of DOE money for a solar boondoggle in New Hampshire...

Brookfield and Mayor Bloomberg have been bought and paid for, and have been supporting this DNC-connected protest since day one. They own the monster, because they created the monster.

When the shit hits the fan, as it most certainly will, Mayor Bloomberg will not be able to escape responsibility. Giving in to the mob like this will only make the eventual blow-up all the worse.

Bloomberg let this get out of control, now we have a few hundred idiots camping out with no real message , bringing unsanitary conditions, fleas, lice, rats, etc into an area, , making the area look like a dump for tourists, costing police overtime.

Yea well done Bloomberg you idiot and why is the media following this FHS, seriously it’;s a handful of smelly people, hardly worthy of the news let alone national news.?

Let them sit in their poop until a Nor’easter blows in. Serves them right.

The owners of the park can raze the place afterward, maybe even get some “toxic waste cleanup” money from the Feds for it.

"Yea well done Bloomberg you idiot and why is the media following this FHS, seriously it’;s a handful of smelly people, hardly worthy of the news let alone national news.?"

I think this is far more dangerous. This is the beginning of a national effort of the left to overthrow the existing social order of the US. The unions are starting to coalesce with the OWS crowd and I look forward to see the professional EEO victim crowd, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson types to start showing up as well. More will follow, like the environmentalists and the Hispanic illegal aliens advocates, etc. This is all being fanned by Obama and his allies to force "change" on America with a manufactured crisis. He will get his way or try and burn the country down IMO.

zero knows that this is make or break time.

He knows he is way high in corruption with his green energy, fast and furious and the economy is in dire mess.

All zero and his elitist fools have now is use the smelly layabouts to cause havoc and maybe bring down America as we know it.

The GOP needs to get AD’s out there using their signs and video’s saying is this the changed you voted for, is this the change of how the Dem party has turned out, commies and socialists.

The older Dems need to understand that their party of JFK is not the party they knew and now it has been corrupted by the fringe elements of the left

There is something about this entire scenerio that does not make sense. Number one: It was Wall Street that helped put the bastard in the White House. Wall Street donated more moner to obama that anyone in history.Number two, Wall Street members voted for him by a large margin. Number three, Wall Street, obama, and the "protestors" are a part of the same family. Number 4 they are not "protesting" Soros or any other leftests. and last but not least, the location where they are staging is private property, which means that the owners could, should they desire, have them evicted/

Unless they are practicing their tactics and working the bugs out for when they begin in ernest, this "movement" when examined closely makes no sense.

What it should do is send a warning that when they are sent to where we are, we are on our own as far as dealing with them goes. We can count on no one but ourselves.

And make no mistake, they are coming.

A side story to this sham in NYC is that Bloomberg is not supporting his Police Chief,Ray Kelly.Having personaly been in this tiny 300’X100’ non-park on Thursday,I believe Ray Kelly a very competent Police Chief could clear the grassless private property in less than 1 hour.

This is what obama meant when he said “we are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America”.

This blueprint for organizing has been in place since before the election of 2008. Such a coincidence (NOT) that this is happening as we head into the next election?

It is naive to think that this is nothing but a bunch of rabble rousing youth.

I do not wish them that bad, they are really stupid, probably looking for a hook up or ten.

Doomberg needs to be flooded with emails and letters saying that nobody in their right mind would want to visit NY under these circumstances, or the mentality that allowed it to prevail. NYC relies on Tourism, and this on top of the bedbugs can be a serious health issue. Tourism in NYC should flat line.

You are absolutely on target - This scenario does not make sense and whatever is going on behind the scenes is truly sinister.

Bloomberg is clearly in cahoots with the higher up socialists orchestrating this - remember the golf outing with Obama?

Bloomberg as mayor of NYC is supposed to be putting the needs of the people of his city as his first priority, not prioritizing the protection of a random mobs’ right of free speech. Many of this mob do not even live in NYC. Sure we have the right to free speech, but this right is balanced with residents’ rights to a noise free, clean environment, which the mayor is supposed to be taking seriously. There are city ordinances in place that could have easily been enforced early on, if the mayor actually cared about his residents and businesses.

- If the financial district were to be shut down - there goes a huge chunk of NYC’s revenue. How would a bona fide mayor let this happen?

- The residents and business owners are complaining of noise, stink ,etc. Why is the mayor ignoring the needs of his own constituents in favor of the protestors?

- When are NYC taxpayers going to realize that they are footing the 2 million+ overtime bill for the police? Do hard working New Yorkers really want to finance this rabble?

As you said - it makes no sense and therefore I smell a very large RAT in the background of all this.

This mess is NOT spontaneous. I may sound too conspiracy oriented, but there is no way this is not being orchestrated by higher up communists with money trying to bring this country down by the use of anarchy.

Want to watch Bloomberg handcuff the whole crowd and drag them away?

That’s easy — we dress up like moslems (in turbans + burkas), stroll up to Zuccotti Park, and announce “We intend to build a mosque... right HERE.”

Bloomberg would have the park clear in 10 minutes, and he’d be pouring the concrete foundation for the new mosque 4 hours later.
