As Mitt Romney continues to dominate the polls in New Hampshire, he is also back in front of the Republican presidential pack in Iowa - though just barely.
But in Iowa, the first caucus state, Romney has not enjoyed quite as strong support. For a time, he fell behind Texas Governor Rick Perry, who entered the race in August. Now, Godfather's Pizza CEO Herman Cain poses the biggest threat.
A new NBC News-Marist poll out today found Romney with support from 23 percent of likely Republican caucus goers in Iowa, followed by Cain with 20 percent. The two leaders were followed by Texas Congressman Ron Paul at 11 percent, with Texas Governor Rick Perry and Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann tied at 10 percent.
In New Hampshire, the NBC News-Marist poll has Romney at 44 percent, followed by Paul and Cain, both at 13 percent. The rest of the candidates are at or below 6 percent.

NET EFFECT of Cain support: ROMNEY FRONTRUNNER about to get the nomination.
It would be nice if conservatives actually considered the consequences of their actions, before playing American Idol with the presidency of the USA.
You are nuts.
I am going to predict that South Carolina and Florida will be the clincher, and put Herman Cain in the lead, and continue to lead all of the way to November. Obviously the NE Republicans are buddy, buddy with their Ex Governor, he would need to show strong there. But the truth in the eatin’ of the pudding will be South Carolina and Florida. Ask Rudy G. and Obama.
Couldn’t have said it any better than that.
Romney is amazing. He gets decent numbers in polls but I don’t know one person who would even think about voting for the guy.
Wrong.
Cain is a great debater. Perry was totally flomoxed in the debates. Romney will clean his clock in any debates - unfortunately.
Cain is doing well.
New Hampshire has a lot of liberals from Boston and New York, allows cross-over votes by Dems (who prefer Romney), and Romney is from New England.
Its closer in Iowa and even there, Iowa has a lot of Mormons who vote for their own people.
Cain will pull ahead of Romney easily.
We have too many conservatives running and splitting the Conservative majority of the GOP votes. Bachmann, Gingrich and Santorum should pull out now and leave it to Romney, Perry and Cain to battle out. That way, either Perry or Cain will win and beat out Romney.
I can’t believe that Romney will even place in Iowa.
Bachmann will win, Cain will show and Perry,or Santorum or Gingrich will Place.
WTH is your problem?
Come on IOWA dont give it to Romney!
I think you may have gotten the order wrong there:
Bachmann win, Cain place and those other three losers will take show.
About 3 weeks ago one guy did say he liked Romney. He's getting his numbers from the media, rinos and Mormons who are voting for him because he's Mormon (just like blacks voted for obama).
You seem to live in a bizarre, alternative universe.
Perry is crumbling because he has come over as a bumbling idiot in the debates.
Herman Cain’s speech today in Bartlett, TN (Memphis)

the first 10 mins have been cut.
voting for the lesser of 2 evils is still voting for evil, Romney is 0 light, Perry wants the illegals made legal, so they can take higher paying jobs away from Americans.
Acting embarrassed by ones own base is not a good strategy for getting their votes.
But it is early, RP still has time to woo his “heartless” constituency.
Ricardo should drop out and join the Cain train along with his supporters. That solves the problem. He has too much baggage and pissed too many people off to be able to make a come back. I assure you that you and the other Perry fangirls will be quite comfortable on the Cain train. The time to drop the dead weight is NOW.
“But it is early”
Nope. Voting will likely start in less than 8 weeks. In 12 weeks this could be over.
Well, since the first primary is still months away, it’s a bit premature to be asking us to drop our support for Perry, isn’t it. If Cain is on such a roll, I would think his supporters wouldn’t be so keen on forcing people out of the race. If we did that in 2008, we probably would have been stuck with Guliani.
“thanks to the attacks on Perry and thanks to pushing Cain. “
um no. It was Perry himself who put himself in this position with his crummy debate performances or have you forgotten that he thinks anyone who doesnt support tuition for illegals’ kids has no heart. Perry flamed out, could he come back yes but he did himself no favors by digging this hole
If he ends up getting the nomination I will walk barefoot over broken glass to vote for him.
