Had to check this wasn’t from the Onion.
Americans were breaking horses and going through a woods break long before the first African sold his cousin to American slave traders who sailed their ships along the breakers.
Oh, now you want to bring Tootie into this :)
Actually I guess that was Nell Carter...Whoops
It seems to me that the key reference here is to "Waterloo". One might think that Demint was referring to the Battle of Waterloo where the forces of Napoleon were defeated decisively by the combined forces of the Duke of Wellington and the Prussian General Gebhard von Blücher, ending Napoleon's 100 day return and restoring Louis XVIII to the Throne of France. But one would be wrong, since such a reference would attach to the use of the term "break" and utterly strip it of any possible racial component. No. The term "Waterloo" refers to the practice of repeatedly shoving the heads of slaves into the plantation "Waterloo," for the purpose of "breaking" them. This practice evolved into the modern day practice of "waterboarding" also used to "break" individuals who are refusing to revel confidential information. It also evolved into the modern "break" dance wherein the descendants of slaves replicate the contortions of the arms and legs of their forebears as they underwent the process of being shown the "Waterloo." It's amazing the history you can find on Wikipedia!
"If we are able to stop Obama on this [health care law], it will be his Waterloo. It will break him.

Even worse, he's inferring that he's French and short.
How are football teams gonna end their huddles now?
One thing about Cain: if he actually won, and actually tried to govern as a Republican and hold the line on government, then he, his adult children, his grandchildren, all his other relatives, and all his black friends will be subjected to incredible amounts of harassment.
His extended family will be subject to extreme hatred from the "Democrat black community" that will be unlike anything we've seen. I wonder if he'll be strong enough to deal with that?
As for the "professor's" claim, I've never heard "break" as a racial term. Googling only turns up this instance. I searched multiple dictionaries including the so-called "urban dictionary" online and nothing.
Dark? Now who's the racist.
They couldn't break Rocky.
Glad to hear that.

Waterloo song lyrics
My, my, at Waterloo Napoleon did surrender
Oh yeah, and I have met my destiny in quite a similar way
The history book on the shelf
Is always repeating itself
Waterloo - I was defeated, you won the war
Waterloo - Promise to love you for ever more
Waterloo - Couldn't escape if I wanted to
Waterloo - Knowing my fate is to be with you
Waterloo - Finally facing my Waterloo
My, my, I tried to hold you back but you were stronger
Oh yeah, and now it seems my only chance is giving up the fight
And how could I ever refuse
I feel like I win when I lose
Waterloo - I was defeated, you won the war
Waterloo - Promise to love you for ever more
Waterloo - Couldn't escape if I wanted to
Waterloo - Knowing my fate is to be with you
Waterloo - Finally facing my Waterloo
So how could I ever refuse
I feel like I win when I lose -
Waterloo - Couldn't escape if I wanted to
Waterloo - Knowing my fate is to be with you
Waterloo - Finally facing my Waterloo
