Jesse Jackson Jr., Debbie Halvorson face off in Illinois race.

“Halvorson, a former congresswoman, effectively declared the congressman a failure and a foot soldier for President Barack Obama. An airport project Jackson’s been pushing for years — a major source of their rivalry — is going nowhere, Halvorson charged.”

“He’s been working on something for 15 years that hasn’t even really gotten started,” Halvorson told POLITICO. “I’m a person who can walk and chew gum at the same time. People want to have a choice in this primary. They want somebody strong enough who’s gonna give them a real fight, and that’s me.”
