Rick Perry 's campaign team, undaunted by plunge in polls, readies phase two

What he means is that in terms of money raised, organizations in place in early-voting states and policy proposals in the pipeline, everything is on track.

On Friday, Perry delivered his first major policy speech, outlining a series of executive actions that would accelerate exploration and production of domestic energy resources and create, he said, more than a million jobs. The next speech, scheduled for Oct. 25, will outline his plan for the economy, which has been a big hole in his message.

After the economic speech, Perry will tackle border security, foreign policy and government reform. The package of speeches, campaign officials hope, will do what the debates have not done, which is to flesh out Perry's profile as a conservative governor with the ideas and leadership qualities to be president.

In other words, the campaign that Perry's team hoped to run from the beginning will be able to start in earnest. He may have dug himself a deep hole with the four debates he's been in so far, but here in Austin, there is more defiant determination than pessimism in the concrete-walled command post.

She is entitled to her opinion. Your comments and tone indicate that she was right.

Right about what? that his faith is why he was "attacked by the media". Total nonsense. He flubbed two debates. didn't she get the memo?

Oh, Perry is not who you are supporting anyway. Don’t pretend otherwise.

Before the debates I had a mixed opinion of Perry. I admired his efforts this year to push through Voter ID and the Sanctuary ban, but I was upset that he dropped his "emergency" stance towards the latter when his funders Bob Perry and Charles Butt came out against it. But I still thought he was the best of a mediocre bunch. Romney will NEVER be acceptable to me. Ever. But Perry really hurt himself with his words at the debates among the Tea Party faithful. As illegal immigration is one of my top issues, it still bothers me.

Why do you keep quoting Bill Kristol? His mouth isn’t a prayer book because it opens and shuts. He was a big supporter of John McCain in 2000 and 2008, so I don’t think he is any great judge of character or how to win elections.

I am not impressed with the Conservatives who were insisting Chris Christie run for President. Though he has done some good things in N.J., I do not think he shares the same convictions that many Conservatives do.

I have not decided how I’ll vote, but some of you posters who seem to be hell bent on destroying Perry are causing me to take another look at him. After studying and reading more about him, he’s beginning to look better and better to me. Surely you can support your candidate without smearing another Republican. Remember Reagan’s 11th Commandment?

BACKSTORY Over and over again, gubernatorial candidate Perry told Texas voters.....if they reelected him, he would not run for president.

Let's mention here---that while Perry conned Texas voters, saying he had no plans to run for president, Perry raised $55 million----precisely to finance a presidential run.

THE PERRY MONEY STORY SO FAR Perry has three PACs (that we know of---could be many many more)----- teeming with millions and millions of dollars to run a prez campaign. Perry runs the govt of Texas as a personal cash machine. One campign contributor even got his own govt regulatory agency......for a price. Merck took care of Perry after he issued that EO to medicate little girls' genitals.

When Perry speaks, it's always safer to ignore him.

CASE IN POINT: Perry says he's pro-life, anti-gay, insists he's a "real conservative." Yet Perry proudly endorsed Rooty Giuliani in 2008. Giuli is radically pro-abort, contributes to PP, was guest speaker at NARAL........When he dumped his wife, Rooty lived with a gay couple, marched in gay parades under the Man-Boy Lovers banner.

Then-Mayor Rooty openly attended official duties with his mistress---and even wanted to kick his kids out on the street and move the slut into the governor's mansion.

Ignore what Perry says----watch what he does.

And look with whom he has associated himself with just over the past 10 years!

Oh I have. His pandering to the racists and anti-American subversives known as La Raza was quite telling. He just as well could have been speaking to the KKK or the Black Panthers, though I believe he prefers racists with brown skin because he's built a career pandering to their ilk.

Kristol is one of the main reasons I quit watching (and supporting) Fox News.
