Real-estate and newspaper mogul Mortimer Zuckerman voted for Obama but began seeing trouble as soon as the stimulus went into the pockets of municipal unions.
'It's as if he doesn't like people," says real-estate mogul and New York Daily News owner Mortimer Zuckerman ...
The Boston Properties CEO is trying to understand why Mr. Obama has made little effort to build relationships on Capitol Hill or negotiate a bipartisan economic plan. A longtime supporter of the Democratic Party, Mr. Zuckerman wrote in these pages two months ago that the entire business community was "pleading for some kind of adult supervision" in Washington and "desperate for strong leadership." Writing soon after the historic downgrade of U.S. Treasury debt by Standard & Poor's, he wrote, "I long for a triple-A president to run a triple-A country."
His words struck a chord. ...Zuckerman reports that among Democrats, "The sense is that the policies of this government have failed. . . . What they say about [Mr. Obama] when he's not in the room, so to speak, is astonishing."...
Zuckerman ponders the Occupy Wall Street movement, he concludes that "the door to it was opened by the Obama administration, going after the 'millionaires and billionaires' as if everybody is a millionaire and a billionaire and they didn't earn it. . . . To fan that flame of populist anger I think is very divisive and very dangerous for this country."
...
Mr. Zuckerman says that when you also consider the labor-force participation rate and the so-called "birth-death series" that measures business starts and failures, the real U.S. unemployment rate is now 20%. His voice rising with equal parts anger and sadness, he exclaims, "That's not America!"

Mortimer Zuckerman knows he’s ‘of the 1%’ - - and he fears the rabble aren’t stable... he’s right about that.
Mortimer Zuckerman
“he’s one of the 1%”
and owns US News & World Report.
And guess which party he will be bankrolling ang shilling for next year?
zuckerman and friends helped bankroll the falsestinian takeover of the greenhouses and expulsion of Jews from Gush Katif. I wouldn’t trust a damn thing he says.
He’s a dem.
Please read my post # 20. Of course, he's a Dem. I've known that since I first heard of him when he bought the New York Daily News in the 1990s.
There was a time, up until somewhere in the 1970s, when the New York Daily News was a subsidiary of the Tribune Corporation, and was considered "conservative" - as was its "parent," the Chicago Tribune.
A Rat you say?
You could never tell it from reading the U S News and World Report could you.
Ahh, that’s a joke son, a joke.
My now ex family doctor voted for him.......Go figure.
It’s always good when somebody sees the light, even though you would think somebody smart enough to be a major publisher and businessman would never have been duped to begin with. But he certainly wasn’t alone, and the blustering on this thread about “yeah, who cares, he voted for Obama, it’s his tough luck,” ignores the fact that it’s not just Obama voters but all of us who are suffering under Obama. Anyone who comes out and rejects Obama and his policies should be applauded and welcomed.
Dem policies in general are socialistic and have always been supportive of big government. That’s probably what these Dems thought they were voting for, more of the usual, just with a more aggressive rhetoric and, of course, the sacred black skin color. But they are finding that they voted for a would-be dictator with no idea of how the US works, either politically or economically. At the same time, Obama is someone who hates everything that is part of our national psyche and our national project, and he and his cronies want to fundamentally change this country and make it into a Marxist dictatorship.
I doubt that I would agree with Zuckerman on anything else, but at least he has awakened to reality and his the guts to say something about it. I think a lot of Dems are uneasy but are afraid that Obama will turn the government on them and attack them, ala Chavez, if they make any noise. So Zuckerman is to be commended for speaking out, at least.
