Obama: King 'Stirred Our Conscience'

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama saluted Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Sunday as a man who "stirred our conscience" and made the Union "more perfect," rejoicing in the dedication of a monument memorializing the slain civil rights leader's life and work.

"I know we will overcome," Obama proclaimed, standing the 30-foot (9-meter) granite monument to King on the National Mall. "I know this," the president said, "because of the man towering over us."

Obama and his wife, Michelle, and Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, joined a host of civil rights figures for the dedication on the sun-splashed Mall. Designed as what King described as a stone of hope hewn from a mountain of despair, the memorial is the first to a black man on the National Mall and its parks.

"He had faith in us," said Obama, who was 6 when King was assassinated in 1968. Obama told the crowd, "And that is why he belongs on this Mall: Because he saw what we might become."

Wonder what MLK would think of armed Black Panthers outside a polling station intimidating voters based on race?

This is one of things I despise most about the BamBam occupation, his references to Americans as "us" and "we." He is no more we or one of us than an alien from outer space.

Only saw a couple of minutes of OhMammies speech (that is all I can stand), but in that short time he spouted a lie .... ‘MLK fought for living wages’. living wages is a relatively new term of the socialist left, and was unheard of in the 60’s !!!

Obama’s strategy: use MLK to backup his Socialism. MLK is no excuse for unconstitutional Socialism or federal government exceeding their constitutional limits. Sentimental memories of MLK (who stood for dignity of black people (good) but federal government-forced egalitarianism and forced quotas (not good and unconstitutional)) is no substitute for America’s Constitutional rule of law which has protected the freest most prosperous nation in the world for 200 years.

Stirred our conscience?

Probably because we think adultery, plagiarism and beating up prostitutes is a bad thing.

“We need only to look at the underlying developements [sic] of our society. There is a definite revolt by, what Marx calls, ‘the preletarian’, [sic] against the bourgeoise [sic]…. What will eventually happen is this, labor will become so power [sic] (this was certainly evidenced in the recent election) that she will be able to place a president in the White House. This will inevitably bring about a nationalization of industry. That will be the end of capitalism. . . there is a definite move away from capitalism, whether we conceive of it as conscious or unconscious Capitalism finds herself like a losing football team in the last quarter trying types of tactics to survive.” - Martin King

Thirty Thousand folks attended the MLK memorial dedication today in Washington, DC, quite a bit less then the predicted 250,000 back in August, 2011. This according to the LA Times newspaper!!! Sad turnout, not for the great Dr. King, but looks like Obama is no longer the heart throb of Black Americans!!! Of course the mainstream media mainly, and on purpose left the attendee numbers count out of their blurbs. Not much to say, the numbers speak for themselves!!! Methinks a sea change is afoot, or beginning to become afoot in Black America. I hear it in the panic racist voices of the “Black Leadership” and now, i see it in the numbers game!!! Let’s face, honestly. A turnout of 30,000, or less citizens for such a major milestone memorial dedication for America’s greatest civil right leader and champion of non-violent protest, has to be cause for alarm!!! And....with POTUS Obama ranting his class warfare jive, you would think all of Washington, DC would be present and accounted for. No such shindig today, folks. Methinks, that Black Americans mandated to life down on the economic/opportunity slave plantation by POTUS Obama, the Democrat Party, the CBC, the NAACP, etc. are getting restless and fed up with their racist leadership!!! It has been forty-three years since MLK was brutally murdered in Memphis and three years since the election of America’s first Black POTUS, and....Black Americans are suffering more pain and economic distress now, then they were in 1968 when Dr. King was murdered!!! Slowly, these folks along with other minorities are realizing they have been had and used by their own brothers, sad to say!!! Again, methinks the winds of change are blowing, slowly, but blowing nonetheless!!!

Talking about audacity -- Obama buried HIS OWN speeches in the time capsule! (from the article:)

"a time capsule to be buried at the memorial. Obama's daughters, Sasha and Malia, each dropped a scroll inside. A White House aide confirmed that they were signed copies of the president's inaugural speech and his address to the 2008 Democratic National Convention."
