“Occupy Rome” Destroys Statue of Mary (with VIDEO)
Catholic Vote ^ | October 17, 2011 | Thomas Peters

Whatever we think about the OccupyWallStreet protests and their inter/national spin-offs, can we all agree that the destruction of private property, and especially religious property, is wrong?

Some people are trying to compare the OccupyWallStreet (OWS) protests with the Tea Party movement. I’ve watched both groups closely and the number of arrests and examples of destruction and civil disobedience displayed by OWS is exponentially greater.

Whatever the causes of both groups’ protests, the effects of their protests couldn’t be more different.

And frankly, when it comes to evaluating these protests, by their fruits you will know them.

Well see now for all of you who said these protests stood for absolutely nothing. Now they have announced they obviously stand for religious intolerance.

It appeared some others didn't like that act at all and chased after the criminal.

I'm going to assume his ass was kicked.

I like to revisit these protest groups from time to time to see if they are in any way doing God’s work. It looks like even a few members of the “protest” recognize that this loser is on the other side, along with far too many of his companions.

The second picture is even more interesting.

The first video could have been from an individual that is screwed up. But the second picture show that isn't true with people just taking pictures and have no intention of cleaning it up.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry when I read a statement like that. What makes this writer think that everyone agrees that destruction of private property is wrong? If he does, he completely misjudges these little Communists.

And if he thinks everyone should agree that the destruction of religious property is "especially" wrong, he is living on a different planet. The Catholic Church is Target #1 for these people. It is a prime symbol of what is wrong with America. They would burn every Catholic or other church down if they had the guts to match their intentions.

People need to wake up and realize that these Communists mean what they say--they want to take your property and deface every symbol of tradition.

Yeah, this is perfect. Let's just smash up every city on the planet. Then things will be so much better for us, and all our problems will be solved.

Dopes.

Deface God’s image and you will probably get away with it — He is accustomed of being abused.

Deface His Mother’s image and He may just lose His temper.

"Well see now for all of you who said these protests stood for absolutely nothing. Now they have announced they obviously stand for religious intolerance."

Religious intolerance? Sir, they stand for evil. They stand for the destruction of Churches and laws and morality. They bring anarchy and death. They revel in evil.

If they seek to destroy things sacred (and harmless) to others, then they need to be destroyed.

It is my belief that no person has a greater right to my property than I have to his life.

(And I'm Jewish, BTW.)

Okay, can someone point out to me when a Tea Partier was arrested? When a Tea Partier was destructive or displayed civil disobedience? "Expotentially greater"?? Well, with the Tea Partier you are starting at zero.

I will give an actual example of the differences: The various Tea Party rallies would set a date, get the permits for their rally, get the word out, have people come to meet and listen to the speakers, AND THEN THEY WENT HOME!!! They did not block streets and sidewalks for weeks on end. They did not block traffic or places of business, thus preventing these business' customers from entering. They went home, they had a chance to utilize their 1st Amendment rights, and then they went back to their lives. Take a clue, OWS.

A letter about OWS printed in our Sunday edition...

Occupy Wall Street started out as an effort by a Seattle based, George Soros funded, leftist rag called Adbusters. There was never anything admirable, noble, genuine or citizen-inspired about this so-called “movement”.

There have been reports of “protestors” being paid up to $22 an hour plus overtime and there were ads placed on certain websites advertising weekly pay rates for protestors.

Many, if not all of the leading organizers behind the Occupy movement are radical anarchists. Much like those who engage in the protests and destruction during the G-8 type summits. These protestors are bound together by a strongly anti-capitalist worldview.

Occupy’s supposed remedy is to replace the foregoing arrangement “with a society of cooperation and community” – i.e., a socialist economy. So it shouldn’t be surprising that the Communist Party USA, the International Socialist Organization, the Peace and Freedom Party, and the Democratic Socialists of America have all embraced Occupy and its objectives.

ACORN (Remember them? The frauds that misused tax dollars and caught red handed engaging in voter fraud?) has played a major role in organizing the demonstrations from coast to coast. The Working Families Party (WFP), a longtime ACORN front, has helped mobilize the protests in New York City. ACORN’s more recently established front groups have similarly been involved in launching the OWS movement in places like Pittsburgh, Orlando, Los Angeles, and Boston.

There is an email archive, created by a private cyber security researcher, that appears to contain messages shared by the left’s anarcho-socialist activists during the strategic and daily tactical planning of the “Occupy Wall Street” and broader “Occupy” campaign this fall.

In one email, dated October 1, Lisa Fithian, a radical anarchist, applauds the launch of “occupations” throughout the country. She also highlights an ACORN-style illegal home occupation in California, linking to a television news story that reveals the involvement of the Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment (ACCE), which is apparently the reconstituted version of ACORN in California.

It can be argued that the true purpose of the Occupy movement is further economic and governmental destabilization, at a time when the world is already facing major financial and political challenges.

What should be especially troubling to any right thinking American, is that by embracing the Occupy movement, President Barack Obama, the Democrat Party, and their union allies may be supporting an effort to harm both the domestic and global economies; to create social unrest throughout the democratic world; and to embrace other radical causes, including the anti-Israel movement. Even the California Teachers Association has jumped onto the bandwagon. I’m sure it’s all for the children doncha know?

This is from the Occupy LA “event”;
[Occupy L.A. Speaker]: “One of the speakers said the solution is nonviolent movement. No, my friend. I’ll give you two examples: French Revolution, and Indian so-called Revolution.

Gandhi, Gandhi today is, with respect to all of you, Gandhi today is a tumor that the ruling class is using constantly to mislead us. French Revolution made fundamental transformation. But it was bloody.

India, the result of Gandhi, is 600 million people living in maximum poverty.

So, ultimately, the bourgeoisie won’t go without violent means. Revolution! Yes, revolution that is led by the working class.

Long live revolution! Long live socialism!”
[Crowd]: Cheers.

There is nothing benign or noble behind this “movement”. And calling a protest that has on average about 150 dirtbags fouling up public property in each city they’re supposedly occupying a noble example of anything is patently absurd.

It’s more like a bowel movement that needs the help of some Colon Cleanse.
