Granted, it was built by the East Germans. However, East Germany was a shxxhole, and people crossed at much risk as often as possible. If you consider Mexico a shxxhole, then the analogy works.

It’s a terrible analogy. The Mexicans are INVADERS, not persecuted refugees. And we’re not keeping our own citizens IN with a wall. We have a right to secure our borders from external forces.

That's ridiculous analogy and the number of East Germans that got past that fence and the armed guards, was small. In the desert region of our Mexican border intruders can be easily spotted if we wanted to. Stationary blimps would be helpful. An Israeli style fence that is monitored and patrolled would keep out intruders. All a US President has to do is to bring in Israeli fence consultants and then build the damn fence where it is needed! Which is not the entire 1800 mile border. Maybe 65% of it
