DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A strong showing is expected in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday, as more people join the sweeping movement sparked by Occupy Wall Street protesters.
Demonstrators with the Occupy L.A. group have been living in tents outside of City Hall for about two weeks protesting against what they call corporate greed.
On Tuesday, the teacher's union will join Occupy L.A. in a march to LAUSD headquarters where the school board will be meeting. They are looking to start a second occupation site to protest teacher layoffs.
The union wants the district to re-hire the 1,200 teachers and other school workers that were laid off earlier this year.
"One of the main points of Occupy L.A. is to protect the public's sphere," said teacher Marcy Winograd. "That we share a public arena and it should be protected from corporate influence."
Winograd says one major issue is corporate charters defunding public education in LAUSD.

Is LaRaza there yet?
The upside: These POS’s aren not in school poisoning children’s minds.
If these people do not realize what the fruits of thier labor has the potential to ignite, I fear that they are going to be in for the shock of their lives.
Just a reminder, this abominable slob is also from the LAUSD:
So?..Personally, I am **very** concerned and so should all Jews ( Zionist or not). Statements like this woman and others is like watching the canary in the coal mine drop dead.
the Duke of Raza-Toro?
More and more I am really disliking school teachers.
All too often they are displayed as models of sacrifice, all “for the children”, but many are nothing more than acolytes of Bill Ayers, self-esteem mongers, anticapitalists, socialists, redistributionists, America-haters, and intellectually mummified no-nothings whose main goal is to propagandize and socially-engineer childen to their warped and pinched world views.
I have to teach my kids math at home, as the PRIVATE school they attend sets such low standards for math. “Well, we do meet WA state standards,” the principle says. BS. Lazy and out of touch teachers.

Or else what, you c*cksuckers.
figures.
They'll need to bring in more antiaircraft batteries soon ~ drop 'em down to use as antipersonnel weapons against these crowds.
I'd pay good money to watch that.

In other words, pay me more than what I’m really worth, provide benefits in excess of my value, and leave me the hell alone to poison the minds of gullible students.
Anything going on in our “skools” (Institutions of Indoctrination) these days? The “students” and “teachers” appear to be too busy pimping communism for anyone to be learning anything. We might want to look at shutting some of them down for a while. They aren’t being used anyway.
Freeze their pension contributions and decertify the union and they can have their jobs back.
What say you unions?
If the teachers are joining watch for MORE signs to be mispilled.
They don’t want sucessful charter schools because the Union will lose dues.
Ha Ha Ha!
Celebrated and Underrated paladin that he is
"Roles For Spoiled Brats" Alinsky
once again....teachers revealing to everyone they don’t understand where money comes from - where “their” money comes from.
Incapable of logic.
