The sales tax portion of the plan is the piece that puts skin in the game for every American equally as well as every illegal immigrant and visitor to our nation. It is the only totally transparent tax -- the standard bearer that when shaken the nation goes on alert. Without that piece, the whole plan is worthless. Both the Democrats and Republicans who have built careers out of muddying tax code will rebel against a national sales tax. They fear it. As well they should.
