I looked into Daryl Hannah's claims after the last time she was on.
Solar - NO WAY right now.
And her idea for running the world off of ethanol is not something for the individual to just go out and do. It would take community by community to transfer over to this, and unfortunately, corn and sugarcane are still the best ingredients to use. The US is not a conducive climate for mass sugarcane growth so we are left with corn. Using our land to grow a crop for fuel is dumb and hurts our ability to feed our people, our livestock and to offer food to other countries.
