Napolitano on ATF Fast and Furious: "We're waiting for the Inspector General"
By Sharyl AttkissonWASHINGTON - Homeland Security Chief Janet Napolitano said today she had no conversations with her one-time chief of staff former Arizona US Attorney Dennis Burke, about the Fast and Furious scandal that led to Burke's resignation. Burke was Napolitano's Chief of Staff when she governor of Arizona. He's the only government official to step down in the wake of the controversial operation that allowed thousands of weapons to be sold to traffickers supplying Mexican drug cartels.
At a Senate Judiciary Committee Oversight hearing today, Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) questioned Napolitano about what communications she had after two Fast and Furious guns were found at the murder scene of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry last December. Napolitano answered that she met with Assistant US Attorneys in the case because "I wanted to be sure those responsible for his death were brought to justice and every resource brought to bear." Napolitano says she did have conversations in December 2010 about the murder of Agent Terry "but at that point in time nobody knew about Fast and Furious."

An internal ATF email dated the day after Terry's death reveals the quick decision to not disclose the source of the weapons found at the murder when the primary suspect was charged: "... this way we do not divulge our current case (Fast and Furious) or the Border Patrol shooting case," wrote an ATF official.
As CBS News previously reported, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent under Napolitano's Homeland Security agency was assigned to a team of federal agents responsible for the Fast and Furious case.
Napolitano told Sen. Grassley she has asked ICE to look into the matter, but that she has taken no further action pending the results of a Justice Department Inspector General investigation.
"We are waiting for the Inspector General," Napolitano said.
Border Patrol Agents must be thrilled to know the boss will leave no stone unturned when one of them is murdered in the desert.
Sharyl Attkisson stay safe, and watch your back.
” An internal ATF email dated the day after Terry’s death reveals the quick decision to not disclose the source of the weapons... “ enough said !!
apolitano’s eaiting for the cover story to be written to keep her from going to Jail.
BTW Patrolman Terry is still dead.
Early evening checkin....Ping
The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
I would love to see the fat butch in a cage match against Bill Clinton, to the death, staged in the back of a cherry red ‘57 Plymouth. Damnnn! I could sell a boatload of popcorn.
The enemy - armed by the Obama/Holder/Napolitano false-flag operation Fast and Furious - responded by firing back live rounds with those weapons.
Napolitano has NOT changed those rules of engagement.
What she doesn’t say is that the Inspector General’s office has been prohibited from spending any money on this investigation and thus there will be no report.
"Border Patrol Agent Terry and the BORTAC team were under standing orders to always use ("non-lethal") bean-bag rounds first before using live ammunition. When the smugglers heard the first rounds, they returned fire with real bullets, { using weapons supplied by Obama/Holder/Napolitano} and Agent Terry was killed in that exchange. Real bullets outperform bean bags every time."

From that statement, I conclude that Homeland Security Chief Janet Napolitano has had a number of conversations with her one-time chief of staff former Arizona US Attorney Dennis Burke, about the Fast and Furious scandal that led to Burke's resignation.
Hopefully, after the 2012 election and in January 2013 we can actually get the facts on this issue.
napolitano belongs in jail.
Somebody else will take the fall, they always do.
I love Mark Stein’s name for her: Crapatano.
As one in a position to know, the DOJ IG or in fact any IG should NOT be looking into this matter. IMO, the matter belongs with a special prosecutor or an independent counsel.
Furthermore the DOJ IG is not even fully vested yet, she is an acting IG.
If one thinks these IGs are independant, consider what happened to Walpern (SP?) over at National Community Service. Oturd fired him because he was getting close to a scandal. That was small potatoes compared to this one. I am sure Susan whatever has her eye on the prize and that eye is to dredge up nothing that looks bad for Holder at any costs.
IMO, the IGs were great when first begun in about 78 by statute. The first few were dedicated guys and non political. Today, they are as political as the agency heads they are supposed to independently report upon and to.
