I have some good news and some bad news...

The good news is I’m getting a raise in my SS payments...

The bad news is they are raising the Medi-Scare premium...

Taint gonna happen. I believe NASCAR is allowing a large opening in the restrictor plate but messing w/the water pressure gauge so the “two by two’s” racing will be limited to a lap or less. At least that’s NASCAR’s plan, we’ll see if it works.

If they have the big one it might really shake up the championship points scoring....

Here ‘tis:

http://aol.sportingnews.com/nascar/story/2011-09-21/rule-changes-for-talladega-could-hinder-two-car-hook-up:

Rule changes for Talladega’s Oct. 23 Chase for the Sprint Cup race, announced by NASCAR on Wednesday, could make it more difficult—theoretically—for cars to hook up in sustained two-car tandems.
The openings in restrictor plates for the Good Sam Club 500 will increase 1/64 of an inch to a diameter of 57/64 of an inch. The change should add approximately seven to 10 horsepower to the engines.
at Talladega and Daytona lately, you know it’s a two-by-two proposition. (AP Photo)
Drivers have said that the more horsepower their cars have at superspeedways, the more unstable they became in a high-speed draft, thereby making continuous pushing a more difficult proposition.
In addition, NASCAR is decreasing the pressure setting in pressure relief valves by eight pounds per square inch. In theory, cars should begin to throw off water at lower temperatures with the reduction—again making sustained pushing more difficult.
It should be noted, however, that race teams overcame measures—including reduced pressure relief valve settings and smaller grille openings—designed to separate the cars at Daytona earlier this year.

And, to you sir, may the bird of paradise fly up your nose.

I had convinced myself it was just a big black boogie in that horse’s nostril pic in the threads opening but no more. Am beginning to believe all the stories Tork tells me about you are true - including the pool chairs.

BTW, the National Weather Service is out w/their winter forecast. You and I are forecast to get hammered again, Tex stays dry.

My drivers are all resting peacefully, I buried them after last week’s performance.

Hopefully it is something I will be doing later today, not the buried part, just the resting. It’s been a long week.

Jana’s Raiders have been resting peacefully all season as I’ve been buried in league standings. If it weren’t for bad luck...and GR & Tork.

Travel day, back to Bend for 9 days. We’re able to rest at home. On the road - not so much. Don’t like the seasonally shortened days & a cold front is coming in Monday - snow for the skiers and house-bound is a possibility.

I hope you find time to dispose of the murder weapon as I doubt that a poor league score is suchificent as a defense even in lawless Texas... y’all

Looks like a great weekend of racing down there. Not much going on here in Benderville except for last weekends Pastels on the Plaza in the next town north and tomorrows Farmers Market...

It’s a little chilly this evening, but daytime temps will be in the upper 50’s - lower 60’s.

There are over 70 big block modifieds, and hundreds of “support class” cars in attendance.

It should be a spectacular weekend!

Ten day forecast for Benderville. I grew up 30 miles west of FResno in the 30s and 40s and got my taste of circle track racing watching the Midgets and Hard Tops at Kearney Bowl where they raced on Decomposed Granite. Billy Vulkovich and his brother Eli in the midgets and Al Pombo in Hard Tops. Tee shirt weather, a RC Cola with a nickel bag of salted peanuts to make it fizz and a bag of fresh roasted sunflower seeds...
