What’s going to happen when Rush and other prominent conservative talkers endorse Cain?

I imagine there will be some people who agree with the endorsement and go with it and some who don’t and won’t.
Might it have some influence?
Sure. With some people.
There are already people on FR going on about what Mark Levin has said about the Cain 999 plan and using what Mark said as the basis for their argument.
I don’t see a problem with that. That doesn’t mean they are letting Levin “tell them what to think.” It means they agree with Levin and they are using him to BACK UP their arguments, not to lead them to their conclusions in the first place.
