An even better game would have been ‘old geezer with a gun’

Walking on Forbidden Drive without a gun?
Maybe he should have thought about that.

Only if said old geezer gets to the range to practice enough to confidently blow .45 cal holes through said lowlifes. Exsanguinated puke punks tell no tales.

The 84 year old man was hit totally by surprise from behind in a most cowardly way.

Wondering how a gun would have prevented such a cowardly surprise attack from behind on a person of such advanced years, and who would have the gun today?

I’m all for concealed carry, but I’m also for being alert to ones surroundings when outside one’s abode.

Being alert is at least half the battle.

Problem with that is, he was operating in "condition white" (oblivious of surroundings). His first indication of attack was when he was hit.

When armed, you need to operate in "condition yellow" (relaxed alertness), especially when in "Indian Country", otherwise being armed is useless. You need to maintain awareness of potential threats in all directions.

PA has concealed carry, but I wonder how hard it is to get a license in Philly. Not totally sure about this, but aren't the licenses handled by local law enforcement? The administration of Philly is extremely anti-gun.

Or how about a concerned citizen driving by playing, Chase the Low Life Punks Down Street Until They Beg For Mercy? They might recognize the motorist, but not the people just standing there and laughing.
