American students now pledge allegiance to Mexico. They sing its na- tional an- them. And it is sanctioned by the state of Texas. Sound absurd? It is. Last month in a Spanish class at Achieve Early College High School in McAllen, Texas, students recited the Mexican pledge of allegiance and were instructed to memorize the Mexican anthem. Moreover, they had to wear red, white and green - the colors of the Mexican flag - as they fulfilled their class assignment. Public high schools no longer promote American patriotism, but they are doing a superb job of cultivating loyalty to Mexico.
Sophomore Brenda Brinsdon refused to participate. I just thought it was out of hand; I didnt think it was right, she told the Blaze, which first reported the story. Reciting pledges to Mexico and being loyal to it has nothing to do with learning Spanish.
Shes right. When she complained, however, to the schools principal, Yvette Cavazo, Miss Brinsdon was told it was part of the curriculum. According to Texas state education standards, students must acquire knowledge of foreign cultures and use language to enhance their understanding.
The students came away with a better understanding of the culture, heritage and customs of a neighboring country where Spanish is the primary language, school district spokesman Mark May said.
This is treasonous; American students are being indoctrinated to revere and pledge their loyalty to a foreign government. Such is the logical consequence of multiculturalism and modern liberalism.

Many students who graduate from high school are barely literate....

Mexico’s Indian Wars continued into the 1930s.
We are not wrong. The retaking of the Southwest is a dominant theme of Mexican Culture ... and its avowed "foreign policy."
Mexican megalomania knows no bounds. At one point, Mexico was one of the largest countries in the world. At the time of the Mexican War it was certainly larger than the US, had a far greater population, and their armies outnumbered ours by at least a factor of 5, were well-equipped, and led and trained by a European-trained officer corps. We definitely went into that one as the long shot! When we whipped them, the blow to Mexican pride was enormous. They never got over it.
IMHO, they should have stuck with Emperor Maximilian. It was a decent shot at turning into a real country.
The Republican Party is aka "The Stupid Party." This is not entirely without reason.
I stand corrected. I guess I was thinking of the mission system in S. Cali, and extrapolated that to the rest of CA. Sounds like that was a mistake.:)
Yes, it’s true, Mexico wants “her” land back, even though we won it fair and square.
PING!
I’m guessing here, but here goes: Jorge W. Boosh, Karl Rove, Juan McLame and La Raza Rick Perry.
See say puede!
Mexican drug cartels taking over Texas, they plan to have a cartel safe zone one-county deep and yet Perry still does not want a border fence.
