“I think it's mostly about getting the latino vote & nothing more than that.”

I've seen an analysis showing that if the same percentage of Hispanics voted for McCain as for Bush then McCain would have been president.

The Rovian GOP establishment sees Rubio in the VP slot as the sure-fire way get back that enough Hispanics to win in 2012...or at least get Florida back in a pinch!

"why don’t you like him?"

I don't dislike him as a person - but the reason for all the hype & promoting him as a VP & future President escapes me & my gut feeling just discounts any good reason for that.

All of them are spouting great 'Condervative' values, but that doesn't elevate them to such high levels with no apparent qualifications.

Why do you like him?

I don’t know much about him.
I’ve seen him interviewed a couple of times, and he came off very well.
After the tea-partiers were sworn in and they kept pushing through continuing resolutions, I remember him bristling at that - that they weren’t sent to DC to pass CR’s.

Oh! He’s very easy on the eyes!!! LOL.

Other than that - I have more homework to do.
This WAPO story is amusing....since when are they interested in somebody’s personal history right?

If it's anyone they label a Conservative - they dig way back for any negatives or mud they can rake up. With Obama - not so much!!

So, you’re saying, screw the Constitution?

What part of National Law don’t you understand?

“...The Naturalization Act of 1790...” was rescinded before 1800. So it matters not a tinker’s damn what it said over two hundred years ago.

Castro began his revolution in 1952. The mere fact that he did not actually overthrow Batista until 1959 does not mean that the Rubios were not motivated to leave by the rise of Castro.

Yes.

WaPo has proved that Rubio’s family were not political refugees of the Communist Revolution, but were economic immigrants.

War refugees
