I happen to know that of the few rape victims who become pregnant, a goodly proportion choose to keep their babies. Their problem is all the kibitzers and pro-abortion nurses and social workers who keep telling them that "of course you will want to get rid of the results of the rape."

Women who have had abortions under these circumstances often describe the abortion as "a second rape."

I knew a woman who became pregnant the result of a rape. She weighed her options, listened to those counseling her and decided to abort the child. Almost immediately she regretted her decision and struggled to live with what she described as a tremendous guilt. Eventually, she began abusing drugs and alcohol and her life became a mess. On the second anniversary of her abortion she took her own life.

The woman, 19 at the time of the rape, was my next door neighbor and my friend and the man who raped her was her uncle.
