I don’t know if anyone else has said it but Michele Bachmann has been pretty vocal about giving education money and control back to the states.
Personally I would go a step further and give it back to the local communities.

Under the Constitution it’s the states that control education.

Personally I would go a step further and give it back to the local communities. I'd get the government out of the education business. Privatize the schools and leave it up to the families on how they want to educate their children.

I think one of the Democrat complaints was that while the money would be given to the states for the purpose of hiring teachers, etc., there was no mechanism to insure it would actually be spent for that purpose. I suppose they are afraid it might be spent for snow removal, or garbage collection.

Personally I would go a step further and give it back to the local communities. That's always the motivation with democrats and unions, along with making those dependent on handouts as many as possible.
