Vice President Joe Biden has been steadfast in his claim that if the president’s American Jobs Act does not pass, “rape will continue to rise.” Some have questioned Biden for invoking rape to push legislation, but the National Organization for Women is not among them.
After one version of Obama’s jobs bill failed to overcome a Senate filibuster last week, the administration has been working to paint Republicans as the ones to blame, and Biden has done so forcefully.
“Well let me tell you, it’s not temporary when that 911 call comes in and a woman’s being raped if a cop shows up in time to prevent the rape,” Biden said Tuesday in Philadelphia, responding to opponents who have called the jobs bill a temporary fix.

This is the same NOW that had exactly nothing to say about Clinton’s sexual harassment of Monica Lewinsky...so they have such great credibility as a serious organization that if the said that the sky was blue I’d have to look up to verify it.

You are exactly right! If either Biden or NOW were really interested in keeping women from being raped (or in keeping either gender from being murdered) then they would support the rights of individuals to arm and protect themselves. If I'm being attacked, it would be the sheerest luck to have police arrive in time to prevent the attack- as in, the patrol car just happened to be driving past or parked around the corner. Anyone with common sense knows that, but then most of us know that common sense, Biden, and NOW don't all belong in the same sentence anyway.
What's more, NOW totally lacks credibility when it expresses "concern" for women; if, for no other reason, due to its deafening silence regarding the way Muslim women are treated (I don't hear them saying a lot about things like female genital mutilation and the "honor" killings, much less the stoning of rape victims). I haven't forgotten their enthusiastic support of Bill Clinton, as well, despite his personal record with women.
As for Biden, well, there's an old saying: "If brains were gunpowder, he couldn't blow his nose!"

The best part of the article, however, is this quote from the sheriff:

I honestly am astounded by NOW backing this obvious lie.I would venture a goes that the police stopping a rape any time in the history of thee world has to be in the single digits mostly they are the clean up crew take a statement take her to the hospital after the rape.
