Why Do the Members of the Secular Media Hate Bible-believing Christians
Townhall.com ^ | October 21, 2011 | Michael Youseff

Posted on 10/21/2011 9:07:35 AM PDT by Kaslin

The clearest answer comes from a statement reputedly made by President Harry Truman during his 1948 Presidential election campaign.

One of his supporters yelled out to him, “Give ‘em Hell, Harry!” Truman responded, “I don't give them Hell. I just tell the truth about them and they think it's Hell.”

That is precisely the reason why there is a war on Christians waged by members of the secular media.

Christians speak the truth about God’s best for humanity as it applies to morality, laws and governing principles, but the secular media views these truths as Hell. Truth always feels like Hell to those who reject, deny, or hate the truth.

When Bible-believing Christians share that there is only one true God who is lovingly inviting people to believe in Him and receive His redemption, or face His coming judgment, that is Hell to those who view themselves as their own gods—masters of their own fates. Many of these self-made gods control our media.

As gods, they want no competition. They reject the truth that God is God alone and that He will hold them accountable for mocking Him and His followers. Thus, the truth is Hell to them, even before they get there. They express their hatred for God’s truth by heaping venom on anyone who declares God’s truth.

Bible-believing Christians proclaim the truth about the biblical principles that guided this nation’s founders. But those who are rewriting American history to fit their desire for self-worship want to silence them. Thus, whenever a Christian lovingly and thoughtfully points them to the truth of history, they hound them down, accusing them of “racism,” “hate speech,” and “bigotry.” Why?

Because truth to them is Hell, so they want to muzzle Christians and their message.

When Bible-believing Christians declare that there are moral absolutes that all men must live by, and that when these moral absolutes are tampered with curses and not blessings will follow...it really angers them. It sets their teeth on edge.

To them these truths are Hell, so they respond by likening Christians to the Taliban and the Jihadis…can you imagine?

The Christians who founded the hospital movement.

The Christians who founded the library movement.

The Christians who founded the orphanage movement.

The Christians who founded education.

The Christians who have and continue to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and care for the needy.

The Christians who sacrificed and continue to sacrifice in following the role model of their Savior who gave His all on a cross to save them. How can they say that Christians are likened to the Taliban?

The Taliban who shoot women in the head at close range in soccer stadiums.

The Taliban who bury people alive for their sins and misdemeanors.

The Taliban who stone women to death for mere accusations.

If I were a rich man, I would offer these self-worshipping gods of the secular media a six month trip to Afghanistan or Iran. If they ever returned from such a trip, they would be changed men and women.

My concern is that the very truth that can set them free is the truth they attack. I know why they attack it—because it feels like Hell to them. It is condemning. However, my heart is not to condemn them, but to pray to God to open their blind eyes, just like He opened mine, so that they may see the truth before it is too late for them.

Simple, we “stink”.

2 Cor 2:15-16
15 For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. 16 To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life. And who is equal to such a task?

We are ultimately immune to collectivist control. Christianity must be destroyed before Socialists can rule the world.

Also, we are hated because of Christ:

Matt 10:22-24 (NASB)

"You will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved. But whenever they persecute you in one city, flee to the next; for truly I say to you, you will not finish going through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man comes. A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a slave above his master."

But, he goes on to say (Matt 10:25-28):

"It is enough for the disciple that he become like his teacher, and the slave like his master. If they have called the head of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign the members of his household! Therefore do not fear them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops. Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

As usual, Jesus has the answer to that question:

[John 15] “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me."

Jesus knew all about it...

John 15:18-25 (ESV)
18 “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.
19 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
20 Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.
21 But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me.
22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have been guilty of sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.
23 Whoever hates me hates my Father also.
24 If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin, but now they have seen and hated both me and my Father.
25 But the word that is written in their Law must be fulfilled: ‘They hated me without a cause.’

They hate us because everything is backwards to them: up is down, good is bad, bad is good.

Read all about it in Romans 1 beginning with verse 18. Explains it all.....

‘Cuz they don’t want to follow the rules themselves.

I was watching a NatGeo program yesterday called “When rome Ruled”. One of the segments dealt with how a small group of dissidents (the Christians) were able to take over far stronger enemies and transform Rome. Basically, the program said it was because “Christians took better care of their children” so they increased in number, etc., etc.

I guess that means that the Christians did not kill or “expose” unwanted children (which was just about all of them.) And thye raised those children in the Christian faith, thereby increasing their numbers.

IMO they hate the Christians because of the Free Will nature of Faith.

If you think about the stories you see or read in the media, it mostly is relating to some War, rebellion, victims of various institutions. criminals are Victims of society.(poverty, edu etc)

No one is EVER held responsible for their own actions.

Even the Greek Riots. The “victims” are the rioters. WHY
because they will have to survive by working, not from some Gov. handout. The Socialist dream is dying just like the Communist dream. Both anti-God.

What could be worse than to tell people that THEY are reaponsible for their own fate. Anti-Christian!!!

Perhaps they don’t think Bible believers are right, and they don’t like being preached to by them, for that very reason?

Probably because there aren’t many Muslims around. What are the odds of finding a Muslim that is preaching about how you are wrong, in an average Americans life? I know of no Muslims that do that where I work, our friends work or where my wife works.

I hear it all the time. What about Louis Farrakhan? Any religious leader from the Middle East pronouncing America as the "Great Satan"?

But you are right, they are not out there preaching, except to the prison populations. Unlike modern Christianity, they still spread their religion by sword, not by preaching. And they continue to subvert the laws of the land by asking for Sharia courts. Christian want the country to hold to the historical underpinnings of our form of jurisprudence. Which, I ask you, is more worthy of contempt?

Also, there are not that many Jewish people in the US, but conservative Jews seem to get their fair share of contempt from the press.

I believe the secular media, which is the socialist propaganda tool, is in diametric opposition to the Ten Commandments. I can't think of a single one they honor or that does not oppose their philosophy or methods. Not one. Put Jesus in the mix and it's the Ten Commandments squared.

I guess it depends on where you live. The media is going to give people what they want, and people don’t want to be preached to. As I said, there just aren’t many people preaching to others, that aren’t Christians. There are lots of Christians and secular humanists working and living together in this country. I don’t think that can be said about the other groups.

Jews have been getting their fair share of contempt for a very long time, before the media even. It’s expected that this would get into the media.

Hate comes from envy, which comes from vanity. Jesus was nailed to the cross in envy. Leftists hate Christians because they envy them. The nature of envy is not to have the things they envy, but to destroy them. It is well known that Christians tend to live longer happier lives, have more successful marriages, have more children, live in visibly larger houses, drive visibly larger cars. Fundamentally, it’s size envy. Like Satan, the most effective way to deal with them is to mock them. Their false pride makes them thin skinned and unable to sustain mockery. Point out their childish envy and they slink away. Ignore their envy and their hate grows until they lash out in theft, murder, destruction, war, and voting Democrat.

The modern meaning of the word gay is a major misnomer in the same league as liberal. Gays are typically miserable envious people that seek to destroy the objects of their envy such as the military, marriage, children, the Catholic Church, the USA.

There's a phrase used in this article which offends me even with my evangelical roots and preference for the KJV.

The phrase suggests there are Christians who are not "Bible-believing." That's the sort of charge you hear from Jehovah's Witnesses. It's coded language.

Use of the phrase "Bible-believing Christian" is like using "global warming denier."

It's an us-vs.-them mentality. It says they don't share our exact means, methods, beliefs or translation so they are fakes and only we are the true Christians.

It's rude, it's uncharitable, it's divisive, it's pompous and it often reflects ignorance of other branches of Christianity.

It's generally code for "not Catholic" as if to say, falsely, the Catholic church doesn't root its faith and doctrine in Biblical scripture. I know the falseness of the charge because I've studied Catholicism at length and understand the role of tradition. Coming from an evangelical viewpoint, I was initially shocked and confused but I realized that first impression was erroneous.

In some part, the media is reacting to this my-way-or-the-highway attitude from those who would use a phrase like "Bible-believing Christian" to describe themselves and denigrate other members of Christ's Church.

The self-proclaiming "Bible-believing Christian," rejects use of historic, scientific, contextual or literary analysis to draw meaning from God's Word. Those who do not are seen and treated as heretical, by implication if not explicitly. I think that's wrong; it's disrespectful. Both "schools" are Christian by faith and genuinely Bible believers as well.

Further, a secular media which has little use for the Catholic values and tradition sees the "Bible-believing Christian" also as willfully anti-science, ignorant, superstitious and so forth. It is all to happy to promote divisions between Christians—Catholic, Protestant, Evangelical and so forth. A phrase like "Bible-believing Christian" only plays into their hands.
