That’s true; probably one of the reasons so many on the left are saying this is that they want us to get used to the idea.
I think Barry is trying really hard to create a crisis or at any rate a crisis mentality. Even though unemployment is high and economic indicators are down, however, it’s not the scale of crisis that he needs. He tried to send out the Occupy Wall Street idiots to create the image he wanted (as they tried, also unsuccessfully, to do in several European countries during the summer months) but it hasn’t worked and even liberals are getting turned off by them.
So we shall see what Bill Ayres - oh, excuse me, I meant Barry Soetero - does next.

Obama is following almost the EXACT same path at consolidating power as Adolf Hitler did. Creating crisis after “Crisis” to keep the sheeple in a perpetual state of unease, while his minions create an “EVIL DOMESTIC ENEMY!”, ie OCCUPY.
It would be good to remember Hitler’s own words:
