They would still have to pay the 9% sales tax, and several others who aren’t paying taxes for whatever reason (those above the poverty level) will have to pay now.
The one thing this plan had going for it was simplicity and fairness. Now it's a malleable concept which would be manipulated at politicians whim to buy votes just like what we already have.
I swear the more cynical part of me thinks conservatives will buy into ideas that would never be bought into if they think a conservative is selling it and that we are seeing the first attempt to conned into something here on that notion--
