Slick Rick dawdled around for months while others carried the conservative banner, yet he had no platform other than "we gone do just what we done did in Texas to make jobs."

With his candidacy collapsing, Slick Rick gets Forbes to formulate a tax proposal. The problem is that Herman Cain has been using a tax plan as his platform for months, while Ricardo tried to convince people that he was the creator of all those jobs in Texas. LOL.

No problem really, who knows, he may have gotten the idea from Perry. I'm glad the Republican candidates are looking at the issue, and some are putting forward plans.

Gov. Perry talked about the flat tax in his book Fed Up!: Our Fight to Save America from Washington published well before Cain ever said 999.

"One option would be to totally scrap the current tax code in favor of a flat tax, and thereby make taxation much simpler, easier to follow and harder to manipulate," Perry writes in his book. "Another option would be to repeal the Sixteenth Amendment to the Constitution (which authorizes the taxation of income) altogether, and then pursue an alternative model of taxation such as a national sales tax or the Fair Tax."
