Actually, not only should felons (not currently serving a sentence) not have their right to own guns taken from them, there should be NO state laws concerning them. It’s amazing how many people can’t understand the simple phrase “shall not be infringed.”

But the LVMPD are murderers, that we can agree upon.

I agree wholeheartedly, but if we are going to continue to pass and enforce blatantly unconstitutional laws, then instead of disagreeing with them I say Embrace the idea and make the LAW APPLY TO ALL PERSONS, NO SPECIAL RIGHTS, NO PRIVILEGES, NO IMMUNITIES of ANY KIND for ANY PERSON EVER. Then they can all live under the SAME laws as us, isn’t that the meaning of “ EQUAL PROTECTION”??

That is part of their sentence, a type of parole. It is fully within the purview of a state legislature to decide the punishment for crimes within the state. If they decide that lifetime conditions be placed on convicted felons, that is perfectly within the confines of the U.S. Constitution. It is the responsibility of the citizens of that state to elect legislators that will pass reasonable restrictions.

I don't follow that serving a prison term squares everything and that the criminal gets a reset to zero. Being locked away so that you can't harm innocents IS NOT the repayment of a debt. I think that a violent rapist should never again be treated as a full citizen in good standing, and I will vote for legislators that agree with me.
