Tea Party Nation poll shows 52 percent will vote for Romney if he is GOP nominee (Look out Pubs!)

Most self-affiliated members of Tea Party Nation, one of the largest national organizations for the grassroots conservative movement, would vote for Mitt Romney as president if confronted with a choice between him or President Obama, according to a poll of members released to The Hill on Friday.

The group surveyed its members this week in an informal poll posted at the group’s website. The question asked was: If Romney is the GOP nominee, what will you do in the general election?

Fifty-two percent of about 1,150 respondents said they would “hold their nose” and vote for Romney if he becomes the GOP nominee, while 23 percent said they would vote for an unspecified third-party candidate. Twelve percent said they would not vote in the presidential election at all if the choice is between Romney and Obama.

O'Donnell and Angle lost because Karl Rove and Newt Gingrich still had the gravitas back then to sway weak-minded conservatives with their establishment blather.

Never again.

Interesting.

I read this exactly the opposite.

If 52% of self-proclaimed Tea Partiers would say NOW that they would support Romney, and then you throw in the rest of the GOP, and then the beloved independent vote....that is sort of a Romney landslide.

The time to beat Romney is now, because the GOP nominee be it a conservative a moderate or a liberal is going to the White House.

"If Mitt is the nominee, I will vote for him."

I think the real question is: Under what circumstances would Mitt win the nomination?

We all know that the LMSM is pushing Romney, and they are behind most of the polls that somehow have Mitt ahead in the polls. Furthermore, the libs are salivating at a Romney-Obama race, wherein the socialist with the most money wins.

Last I heard, it is still up to the Republicans to name their nominee, not the Lame Stream Media.

“vote...especially for the Senate candidates & House.”

Amen! We must take back the Senate; it is our only hope to turn things around.

I do not agree. There is a big difference between Romney and Obama. I do not want Romney to be nominated or elected, but he would be an improvement over what we have now.

I would definitely prefer Cain, Gingrich, Paul, Bachmann, or Palin.

My first choice is Cain/Gingrich.

Sue Lowden or Danny Tarkanian would have sent Reid packing. Angle said too many off the wall things. Both she and O’Donnell made me cringe on occasion because of some of the things they would say. Sorry but that’s the truth. They made themselves easy targets to be defeated. We can blame it on Newt or Rove but they’re the ones that made themselves easy candidates to be defeated.

Nevada wanted to dump Harry but the Republicans put up the wrong candidate. Sue Lowden or Tarkanian would have given conservatives 85% of what we wanted and sent Harry packing. Instead, we got 6 more years of Harry Reid.

What the heck does Romney offer other than a slick haircut? He was ineffective (or worse) in MA. He had no coat tails in the state elections, was liberal down the line and introduced Romneycare. His one plus is that he made lots of money and was apparently effective in one Olympics.

Look, we have been at this table before, with McCain early Feb. 2008.

We have to fight a Romney nomination.

Our fallback position, which is actually even more importan than winning the White House, has to be that if Romney gets the nod, we have to ignite the base for voting in a Republican Senate majority and keeping the GOP House.

Then Romney as President is neutered. The President is not the king of America. And Romney is not a man of principle—he will bend in whichever way the winds of power tell him to.

We have to be that wind.

Romney will not hold the evangelical Christian vote. If Romney gets nominated Obama will win.

Romneys' a flip flop master and I know I will sit the election out if he wins the GOP nomination.

I agree. I think most on our side would vote for ANYONE over Obama, including Ron Paul, Jon Huntsman, or Mitt Romney. A few wouldn't. Would it be enough to re-elect "the One?" No.

I keep saying, so mark it down: Elmer Fudd would beat Obama in 2012, so it's incumbent upon us to make sure we nominate a very conservative Fudd.

Nooo! Get out there and vote for your House Republicans and Senators even if you don't vote for Romney. We have a real good chance of holding both the House and the Senate this time around. That will counteract whatever Marxist is in the White House.

Sorry, I’m not handing the White House back to Obama no matter who the R candidate is. Period. There would likely never be another free election in American history.

I guess I am not understanding what the “Tea Party Nation” is. Is this some organized group like the “Tea Party Express?”

I love the Tea Party. I am not such a big fan of the “Tea Party Express.” My attitude may change towards the Tea Party Express over time but I didn’t like what I consider “a fumble at the 1 yard-line” in Nevada.

America is SAFER with Obama than Romney.

Romney will DELIVER the same thing as Obama
BUT ... America is now ‘awake’ to Obama
whereas only Romney VICTIMS are glaringly aware
of the real Romney.

I am not 100% sold on any of the republican candidates at this time. My favorite right now is Herman Cain.

All I know for 100%, if God gives me that much time, is that I will voting to remove the current socialist living in the White House.
