Climate study confirms what skeptics scoffed at: global warming is real (BS!)

Typically bad reporting by the drive-by media. The reality of periodic global warming (I thought we are now supposed to call it "climate change") as an episodic feature of the global climate is a well recognized fact of history. Most of mankind's advances have come during periods of warming, and stagnation and hardship during periods of cooling.

Scientists are skeptical mainly of the alarmists' irresponsible predictions and unsubstantiated attributions of cause to trivial phenomena like how much coal we burn, while ignoring fluctuations in solar activity that correlate historically with climate change.

This "blue ribbon" team at least have the good sense not to make any judgment as to the cause of their alleged "warming." They let their financial backers believe that they were going to produce an elephant but have labored mightily instead to give birth to a gnat.

I think the authors have doubts that this study will stand up to scrutiny. They posted it on a berzerkely blog instead of submitting it to review by qualified skeptical peers. I think I'll wait for the process to go forward before taking even these modest findings very seriously.

certainly you are correct.
but, there is a lot of data that is useful,
when it isn’t rigged.

official data has been changed, LOWERING temperatures
in official records, up to 100 years ago, to falsely
create a higher slope.

and this study is mostly true, but misleading.
since 1950, there WAS a temperature increase.
MOSTLY because the Sun was it’s most active,
in 1000 years.
but, in the past decade, the Sun has changed,
and we are entering another “Maunder Minimum”
period.
(Satellite measurements show the LOWEST readings ever
from the Sun, since launched in the 50 years ago.)

and in fact, the Earth has gotten COLDER since 2001.
(which is why Hadley CRU wanted to “Hid the decline”.)

Ice Ages...plural !
There have been many times in the earth's history when ice sheets advanced. Once it seems enough to make the earth a snowball and there is some evidence for at least two other times. Note none if this is computer generated its from data, geologic & geochemical data! (Which isn't replicated if you feed this type of data into these simulations! That would make a real scientist think maybe this computer program has a few flaws and bad assumptions in it!) So did trilobites driving SUVs take us out of the snowball earth scenario?
Or was the Medieval Warming period caused by Vikings burning all those monasteries?

the sea level, which has been naturally increasing, for thousands of years, has stabilized. frost lines are creeping north each year. manatees dying from cold in florida, millions of livestock dying of cold in Asia.

Well of COURSE global warming is real, and it has been for, literally, millions of years.

Sometimes the clobe is warmer, sometimes the globe is cooler, and it's been happening WITHOUT mankinds help for longer than mankind has been around.

Note: The authors of this study refused to let it be peer-reviewed, chosing instead to first release it to the media. That should tell you everything you need to know.

Actually, this looks like a very fair study. It was funded in part by the Koch brothers foundation. They have made all their data and computer programs available for download, so anyone can do a "peer" review.

Peer review has little validity if the reviewers are incestuous with the author - and this is the norm in science. Transparency and full disclosure is much better than peer review. Hopefully this will become the norm in the computer age.

Any human activity causing CO2 is wiped out several times over by the suppression of forest fires that used to rage across the country every year.
