Yes, we certainly did prove that Israel cares about its citizens that are in the media. So, if the IDF is bulldozing your house, if you were arrested for saying a prayer on the Temple Mount, if the Miserable Panim (Ministry of Interior for those fortunate enough to not need it) wants endless documentation before giving you citizenship, then GET IN THE MEDIA! Then the Israeli government will care about you.
If you're an Arab peacefully demonstrating in Syria and the government opens fire on you, I'm afraid you're screwed, even if you do get on the media. Syria doesn't care about anyone but its ruling class.
