Parents' Attorney Doubts Cadaver Dogs [Lisa Irwin case]
FOX Kansas City ^ | 10/22/11

Posted on 10/22/2011 2:13:29 PM PDT by freespirited

The attorney representing the parents of Lisa Irwin said Saturday on a national news show that the cadaver dog "hit" referenced in the search warrant, could have other reasons, nothing to do with Lisa.

"My understanding is that there are cold cases where dogs have hit on scents of decomposition that had been in the home for as long as 28 years," Cyndy Short, with McCallister Law Firm, said to ABC's Good Morning America. "This is an old home, 63 years old. There could be a lot of other explanations for that," she said.

Nineteen days after 11-month old Lisa Irwin disappeared, Short also tried to clarify the reason Deborah Bradley told police she didn't look for her baby in the yard the night she disappeared.

"She was deathly afraid," Short said in the interview. "I think in that fear, not knowing what happened to that child, that she didn't want to find something in the backyard that might have been terrible."

On Sunday, Cyndy Short is scheduled to be interviewed by FOX 4. We will bring you a complete report from that interview on FOX 4 newscasts and FOX4KC.com.

Lisa disappeared October 4th. Police ask you to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS if you have any information helpful to the case.

So you think that scenario is a possibility? I think if that man was indeed carrying Lisa, she was dead. The cops have had three weeks to check out the story. Wonder what they found? They sure aren’t releasing much information. I believed Lisa would be found alive until the cadaver dog hit.

Probably, if you're referring to the second sighting. If I were the cops I'd comb the wooded areas at the corner of 48th and Randolph; the guy was headed in that direction when the motorcyclist spotted him. One is inclined to think that this person wasn't acting rationally, assuming he's the perp. Dressed in a t-shirt on a 45-degree night, walking right down the street with the kidnapped, possibly dead baby in his arms. A meth addict, maybe?

The last thing a meth addict is looking for is a dead baby to haul around (or a live baby). If there was indeed a man carrying Lisa around, it is a relative of Deborah or Jeremy, IMHO.

I can't really see that in this case, once again, assuming the guy is the perp. It's irrational behavior, the kind you'd expect from a hard-case drug addict, or psychotic, or both. I'm not ready to speculate on an elaborate conspiracy theory drummed up by several members of a family that has really shown (as far as I can see) no predilection for the kind of actions we're looking at here, particularly at such short notice.

The authorities right now are doing what I call "playing the paradigm." They've no rational explanation for what happened; they can't break anyone down (which I think would be easy to do if any of these family members had been involved), and since the mother was the only one at home at the time, it's got to be her by default. And it's not just the police: every damned amateur sleuth out there has got the woman tried, convicted and fried. And there's only one element that's wanting to complete the case, namely, evidence.

I wonder if they'll doubt these...

I remember a report near the beginning about a text message - not clear if it was reported sent from a cell phone of theirs or received - but it read “ready when you are” at about 2:30-2:40. Never have been able to confirm if it is true. If it is true, I would think the cops know who sent/received it. I just wish we knew more about what the cops actually know.

I did a search on that, and based on what I found, I believe it was just a rumor.

Something interesting I did find in my searches is that at the corner of 48th and Randolph, where the motorcyclist claims to have seen the man and baby at 4:00 a.m., there's a company called "Kids Creation," that specializes in very elaborate wooden playsets for children. Believe it or not, there's what appears to be an incredibly elaborate wooden playset in the back yard of the Irwin house.

From Deborah’s aunt. I assume it is true.

“Thanks FatCat for the update on the man with a baby.

Just saw this on FB (pretty bold statement):

Johnny Chiaravallotti:

In 2001 , My sister Lisa passed away from a suspicious ‘accidental drug overdose’. Lisa was the mother of Debbie , the mother of this missing 10 month old. This missing baby was named after her deceased grandmother. I am the Uncle of the mother (Debbie) of this missing child. My sister Lisa had 3 kids and was estranged from her husband , who was thousands of dollars behind in back child support and was living in Delaware close to his estranged wife and his 3 kids. He did not like it on the east coast. He was from Kansas City. My 36 year old sister mysteriously died from what they called an ‘accidental overdose’. After her death , her estranged husband who owed thousands in back child support and didn’t like living in Delaware anyway , took his 3 kids and returned to Kansas City. Debbie , the mother of this missing child , is one of them 3 kids. Now here we are 10 years after the mysterious and suspicious death of my 36 year old sister Lisa ... and the 10 month old baby who was named after her is missing. I have no been in contact with them for a few years so I don’t know what’s been going on in Missouri. But I will say that I have always been suspicious about my sister Lisa’s estranged husband and whether or not he was involved in her death. He had plenty of motive. And he left Delaware very fast. Lisa’s death looked like an accident so it was ruled an accident. But I know my sister and she was smarter than that. And her death occurred on the 10th birthday of her youngest son who found her dead in bed on his birthday. Is the disappearance of this child and the suspicious death of my sister connected ? Is this just a coincidence ? We have one Lisa dead and another Lisa missing. I love my niece Debbie , the mother of this missing child. And I have no idea who her boyfriend is. Nor do I know what was going on in their lives in the past few years. But I do know that I lost my sister Lisa 10 years ago and I will always be very suspicious about her death. Now this poor child is missing. I am curious to know if her grandfather was around.”
