Drug Business in Bannu Central Prison involved person beaten harshly

Peshawar — Seven prisoners of Bannu District Prison have been beatenby jail staff and now they are locked in death cells even though they were in trial. Theprisoners were shifted from Kohat Central Jail to Bannu Jail, because the managementof the prison is now shifting the militants and Taliban linked prisoners to differentprisons in KP Province. Now the Kohat Central Prison will be used only formilitants and other prisoners will shifted to Bannu and D.I.Khan prison.

According to Bannu Prisonsources, seven prisoners detained by forces in FCR were shifted one weekbefore to Bannu District Jail. Where these prisoner were found, some prisoners areinvolved in drugs and hashish business in Bannu prison. The shifted prisoners’have complained to the staff of Central Prison Bannu about the illegal drugbusiness.

The staff andsuperintendent didn’t take notice of the complaint and the drug seller at the prison beatthe complainer harshly. After the beating, prisoners had a hunger strike in jailand prison management sent the 5 prisoners to death cells, where two of them wereseriously injured.

The jail staff of BannuPrison tried to covered the incident of the beating the prisoner. When asked about theincident, the jail Superintedent Usman Ali marwat confirmed the incident andsaid that he was out of the office when the accident occurred in prison. He saidthat the situation is changing in prison and he takes notice of the incident.
