Reverend: OWS protesters ‘are basically white kids’
The Daily Caller ^ | 10/23/2011 | Ginni Thomas

Columnists and reporters have been falling over themselves trying to analyze how the Occupy Wall Street protests compare to the tea party movement. But they’ve failed, says One Nation Back to God founder the Rev. C.L. Bryant, to treat both movements fairly.

In a compelling interview with The Daily Caller’s Ginni Thomas, Rev. Bryant, who used to be a rising star on the left, laid out the differences he sees between the two movements and how the media is treating them.

“It’s amazing to see that the ‘occupiers’ of Wall Street are basically white kids, and they’re dressed fairly well — there are some out there who are kinda scruffy — but I don’t see the media bringing up the fact that there are no black folks in it,” he said.

Several have had their $5,000 Apple laptop computers stolen. Their meals are being catered by an executive chef and the food is provided by organic farmers and corporations. Doesn’t sound like they’re too downtrodden.

CL Bryant is an old friend of mine. But when I met him in Tampa in the ‘90’s he was a super-lib with close ties to the Dallas NAACP. Some thing happened because he became a Tea Party favorite (several of his speeches are on YouTube) and now has his own conservative organization.

Goes to show you-—people are capable of change. We need to stay after them and keep up the prayers.

A lot of guilt-ridden trust fund kids in the OWS crowds, rebelling against mommy and daddy.

I think it was Carl Marx who said of the Germans:

"If they were going to start a revolution by taking over the railway stations....

they would buy platform tickets".

I used to be a white kid. I don’t feel like I owe anybody anything. How inconsiderate is THAT?

Over Columbus Day I went to downtown DC to check out The Taste of DC restaurant sponsored tasting event on Pennsylvania Ave. As it was next to Freedom Plaza I also dropped in on the October 2011 branch of the anti Wall Street movements. This is the more organized of the two events in DC. The other at McPherson Sq. is probably more radical. At any event, there were a significant number of black people at the Freedom Plaza site. A number of people I spoke with were from out of town. Some of the DC blacks were local. I think DC has more political kids and fewer trust fund kids than in NY. There was even a Republican woman who spoke to the crowd a few minutes saying our problems transcend political boundries. She was politely received and applauded.
