ADL Responds To Criticism of the ADL-AJC Unity Pledge on Israel [ADL Press Release]
B'nai B'rith Anti-Defamation League ^ | Oct. 25, 2011 | ADL (Press Release)

Posted on 10/25/2011 7:51:23 PM PDT by justiceseeker93

New York, NY, October 25, 2011...The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) said some groups had distorted its call with the American Jewish Committee (AJC) for a national bipartisan consensus on Israel as an attempt to stifle cricism of the Obama Administration.

The League today made clear that was not intended to discourage raising questions about a candidate's support for Israel, as some groups, including the Republican Jewish Coalition and the Emergency Coalition for Israel, have charged. Rather, the purpose of the pledge is "to put Israel ahead of politics" while "avoiding harsh and personal rhetoric or tactics in the form of attacks on political opponents' positions on Israel."

TOPICS: Foreign Affairs; Israel; Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS: adl; adl4adl; adl4alqaeda; adl4antisemites; adl4antisemitism; adl4dnc; adl4ikhwan; adl4obama; adlvsisrael; foxman; jewishvote; republicans
This "Unity Pledge" is an attempt by Foxman and his fellow Democrats at AJC to obfuscate the fact that the two major parties in the United States, in general, have substantive differences in their positions on Israel and the Middle East, differences that don't bode well in the Jewish community for Foxman's 'Rats in next year's elections.

Foxman can't cover this up by trying to stifle legitimate criticism by Jewish (and other) Republicans of the Obama administrition and dreaming of a "bipartisan consensus," no matter how much double talk he puts into this press release. Sorry, Abe, the era of bipartisan consensus on Israel has vanished with ascension of the Obama Administration - which you still love, apparently.

The vast majority of the people of Israel understand much better than Foxman and friends what the Obama Administration and the Democratic Party in the US represent, and it isn't very encouraging.

I want to know where Abe Foxman and the ADL have been throughout the OWS "protests" and the spread to other cities? Leftist dems have a long history of claiming conservatives use "codewords" like "voter ID" or "lower taxes" or "state rights" to hide their "racist" beliefs.

But Foxman and the ADL are ignoring one of the oldest "codewords" in history, going back as far at least as Shakespeare... Everybody knows that when you see a sign that disparages "bankers" the real meaning is the disparagement of Jews.

Other than the fact the ADL has morphed into nothing more than a leftist arm of the DNC, there really isn't any reason that they could possibly have missed this.

Consensus = Vote for and contribute to the 'Rats!

BTW, noticeably missing from the ADL web site was any condemnation of the Nazi-like antisemitic rant by that black bitch at the "Occupy LA" event.

That's hitting the nail on the head. The most egregious example was the black female at the "Occupy LA" event who went into an overtly antisemitic rant, lasting about three minutes, that was seen in all its ugliness on local TV. I just went to the ADL web site and, unless I overlooked something, there was absolutely nothing about this there.

It's a shame that the ADL, an organization that came into being for a very legitimate reason - the infamous Leo Frank case in Atlanta in 1913 - has morphed into this disgrace under Foxman.

Oh, yes. Give money. I forgot that part of the equation.

Support Israel, but keep giving money to the DNC anyway.

When I first saw the title I thought it meant ADL and AJC were calling for both parties to support Israel. Boy was I wrong.

The ADL has always been liberal--but liberal hasn't always meant what it does now. So far as I know Foxman is the first ADL head to endorse "gay rights"--and he's supposed to be "Orthodox!"

For the sake of objectivity, I’m partially correcting an earlier post re the ADL’s position on the antiesemitism within the OWS movement.

Apparently prodded by Joel Pollak (an unsuccessful Jewish Republican candidate for Congress from Illinois in 2010) writing on Andrew Breitbart’s BigGovernment.com, the ADL did wake up from its slumber and issue a press release taking note of manifestations of antisemitism at the OWS demonstrations.

However, rather than directly condemning these nitwits, the ADL minimized the role and influence of antisemitism in the OWS movement and instead called upon the protest organizers to condemn the “extremists” within their midst.

The ADL’s press release:

You know, there's more than a little irony in the ADL shilling for a movement whose hostility to "Wall Street" and "bankers" sounds just like the JBS or Liberty Lobby.

Some people will apparently go wherever the Democrat party leads them . . . even right back into the Klan!

Speaking of the Klan, you just reminded me that David Duke just announced that he is joining the OWS movement!
