The 9% sales tax in Cain’s 999 makes it DOA.

Btw, its “<” for less and “>” for more.

You know I agree! Me Too! We seem the minority on this thread... Just cant fathom how all these conservative people cant see that our current tax code coupled with taxing income and earnings is what the problem is. We need to tax spending and broaden the base to include the entire HUGE underground cash economy too. We need to quit discouraging working, earning, saving and investing and bring back all the outsourced jobs with a zero corporate tax rate.

Somehow seems like there is a complete lack of understanding why the 999 and transition to fairtax plan works, by broadening the tax base to 100% of our population plus all the legal and illegal visitors!

Why would you rather give up 20% of what you earn and still pay all the other additional taxes, than to pay a 23% tax on what you spend and get your whole paycheck with no deductions?

Yes I know, That 23% number seems so high until you understand you are already paying that amount or close to it, in hidden taxes on every thing you currently purchase. Remember, Corportations dont pay taxes, they pass them up the line and the consumer foots the bill. The 999 plan starts cutting those hidden taxes back, and the fairtax eliminates them PLUS the huge waste of time and expense of just figuring your corporate taxes out is gone too. After the engine starts rolling, and free market capitolism competition drives the price back down, your after fairtax amount will be about the same price you were paying before, maybe even less in cases after companies move back here and reduce overseas shipping charges.
