Editorial: Pollution czars' plan to choke California business
The Orange County Register ^ | 10-26-2011 | Orange County Register editorial boarad

California foolishly is going where Congress fears to tread, and where even European global warming zealots are backing away. Nevertheless, an unelected, virtually unaccountable board of government overseers has voted unanimously to impose mandatory cap-and-trade regulations on California businesses that will likely kill jobs, chase companies out of state and impose $2 billion in new taxes, all in a Quixotic quest to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, a highly questionable, perhaps meaningless, goal...

No Smoking Hot Spot (The Australian)

The missing hotspot (JoNova)

Those two articles take Greenhouse Theory at face value and by the criterion set up in the theory itself finds no evidence of warming on the basis of greenhouse effect.

Sky-high hole blown in AGW theory?

"Forbes reports on a peer-reviewed study that uses NASA data to show that the effects of carbon-based warming have been significantly exaggerated. In fact, much of the heat goes out into space rather than stay trapped in the atmosphere, an outcome that started long before AGW alarmists predicted:"

That article explains why no Hot Spot has been found.

Same with New Mexico. After Richardson's replacement was defeated last November and before the newly elected Republican governor took office, the Environmental Improvement Board (picked by Richardson or his underlings) adopted an equivalent set of rules. Governor Martinez first tried to stop publication of them in the state register, but the courts ruled they were legitimately adopted by the former board. She had already replaced the board members with those more in accord with reality but the regs will have be rescinded by the new board after public hearings and no doubt court challenges by the enviro-Nazi lawyers. It's very hard to undo what radical libs have done.

CO2 is not a problem, but even if it was, we can do nothing about it.

With the immense size of the earth and the complexity of its many systems, why does ANYONE think we could have an effect on global warming? (IF it is even happening).

Liberal minds are FUBAR. They think that if they raised taxes from 50% to 100% they would double revenues. When of course they would drop to near zero. (some liberals would send in their 100%).

These people: liberal, progressive, marxist, socialist, anti-capitalist, communists MUST BE DEFEATED! We don't want to compromise with them. We don't want to find “common ground” THERE IS NO COMMON GROUND. We win, they lose. That is it. You wouldn't drink water with a little bit of sewage in it, why are you accepting a country with a whole lot of socialism in it?

How anyone could go into that socialist hellhole and try to maintain a business is beyond me.

California voters want their State to fail. The liberal hard left nitwits are killing their very huge paychecks when the States fails. Talk about dumb.

It's all about tax money. Has nothing at all to do with easing pollution.

It'll work for a couple of years until all the companies finish relocating. Then the Dems will have to come up with something else they can tax.

The AGW hysterics are asserting that a rise in the CO2 level from .03 percent( three hundredths of one percent) to .04 percent(four hundredths of one percent) will forever radically rearrange the climate system of the entire planet.

Anyone who believes that believes in having a massage parlor worker release their chakras.

Don't bet on it. They'll end up like Greece and the European Union - too big to fail. I expect that when California gets close to default, there will be all sort of histrionics and very complicated financial plans that will translate into the rest of us paying for every hair brained, leftist waste of skin that is California.

From a justice standpoint, yes. The problem from a practical standpoint is that even socialists are allowed to leave the state after it implodes due to the policies they supported. Then they invade a healthy free state and think they're still allowed to vote for the same kinds of people and policies they voted for in their previous host. (Hell, still allowed to vote at ALL is shocking) I obviously wouldn't support rules trapping conservatives in a hellhole like that, but how are we who had the foresight to live in free places in the first place supposed to protect ourselves from this electoral hijacking??

True. Only answer is divorce. We need to divorce ourselves from the blue states. Then kick all liberals out of our new country, and be very selective about who we let in. LOL! I’m dreaming, but what the heck.

Works for me. Or maybe if you move to a state that’s predominantly the opposite of your own historical voting record, you don’t get to vote again till you’ve lived there for 20 years.
