I’d be happier if Cain had one the Senate seat and had some political expertise. Of course, I’d be happier if Perry hadn’t come across so bad in debates, or been so bad at explaining himself. I’m never happy when I can give a better defense of a candidate than they can.
At this point, if we could combine Perry’s record of acheivement and fundraising ability with Sarah Palin’s ability to communicate, we’d have an unstoppable candidate. Unfortunately, we don’t get to build our candidates.
I was watching Paul Ryan’s speech yesterday, and given where we are now, I really wish he was running (although since he said several nice things about Perry’s plan yesterday, I’m guessing he’ll get trashed as a RINO here pretty soon — it really is easier to tear people down than defend a candidate).
