My older brothers and I lived in foster homes in the early 1960s in Phoenix,AZ. I once saw a kid get the dogs!@t slapped out of him for taking two pieces of cornbread. We had to stay outside in the back yard all day. Another foster kid delighted in pulling the hair out of my arms. My older brother beat his ass one day and that stopped that. These are just a few stories......Great times!

I am so sorry you and your brother went through that! God bless all the days of your life - double time.

I am so sorry that happened to you and your brother, 4yearlurker. A close friend of mine lived near a family that fostered children. The saddest story she told me was during Christmas, the foster children didn’t get even one small present. The “bio” children of the couple had presents stacked up under the tree but not ONE for the others. One little boy about age 7 asked the foster Mom, “Why didn’t Santa bring me anything?” Her reply, “Because Santa doesn’t get extra money in December to buy you anything”. Beyond cruel and just heartless IMHO. My girlfriend went shopping the day after Christmas and called the three foster kids over and told them Santa dropped their presents off at her house by mistake.
