Skiers and boarders beware: Ski areas are opening but the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) hopes to tumble one symbolic guardian from your sport's terrain.
Anti-religionists aim to remove a statue of Jesus from near the top of Chair 2 at Montana's Whitefish Mountain Resort.
Local Knights of Columbus erected the figure in the 1950s. Many members were World War II veterans wanting to replicate sculptures they saw while fighting in the European mountains.
The U.S. Forest Service, cowed by false assertions that religious displays on public land are illegal, wants Jesus gone. And the FFRF intelligensia waves its misleading "separation of church and state" banner.

There is talk now that the historical nature of the statue may allow it to slip in under the bulls—t “requirements” of church-state separation.
It’s a beautiful statue and represents the best of what this nation has to offer.
Which is of course why the domestic terrorists want to bring it down.
“Anti-religionists”
The HELL they are, they’re anti-Christian.
Insightful response!
Weren’t the Obummers in Whitefish last summer? Just sayin....
Christianity is the strongest deterrent to Communist principles that exists. They know it. They have been fighting it for over a century. They will not give up. Know this. Remember this. This is a WAR against God loving people in an attempt to replace Him with the state as supreme deity.
I guess I can see how this huge statue towering over and dominating the local mountains and shadowing the tress could be distracting to skiers.
It's massive size and placement constitutes a clear hazard to skiers, aircraft and satellites.
It must be removed.
As a native Montanan, and the son of a WWII POW, I can't tell you how angry and upset that this is happening! Anti-christians from Wisconsin are pulling this!

Think of it as just another skier to be avoided, only easier to see! You missed the point of the column. Lighten up!
Does Jesus have a passport? A visa? A green card? I think not...
Pass this column along to your brother to spread far and wide in Montana (using the wnd.com link). Also have him send the column to Dennis Rehberg. It would be ammo for Rehberg’s position. And it would carry more weight with the congressman coming from a Montanan.
Well, because he’s a liberal/democrat and no fan of Denny, the WND article would never work....with him. He is, however, behind Denny on this one.
Can you locate that painting of Gen. Washington on his knees in the snow, praying for G-d’s grace upon his men and their cause?
There is something truly hateful about these in-your-face antitheists. They’re not stupid, they know Christianity teaches patience and forbearance, and they take advantage of it, just like the Muslims do.
There’s a breaking point a-coming, and when it does, blows will be struck into flesh.
Obviously...... there are way too many democrats in Montana..
They probably came from Mexifornia..
And no doubt are currently trying to bankrupt Montana...
Exactly so.
I wonder if the building/land next to this anti-Christian brigade is for sale? I would erect the biggest, baddest Jesus statue I could afford and have it overlooking their office building.
Glowing eyes and halo on all night.
People, especially evil people, have way too much time on their hands.
