A dogged freshman lawmaker who refused to budge from the House chambers earlier this month until the Patrick administration came clean on how much taxpayers coughed up last year for free health care to illegal aliens finally got his answer yesterday: a whopping $93 million.

“A dogged freshman lawmaker...”
The only kind we should ever have.
I’d like to see that number posted for every state and for the federal government.
“Id like to see that number posted for every state and for the federal government.”
I can’t believe NJ spends any less than MA; we’re filled with illegals (apparently they’ve gotten the word out to their amigos that the streets are paved with freebies here in NJ). This invasion of our country has the blessing of both parties.
With Rick Perry in TX, you got to wonder what the figure is there $600 mil?
Gotta love that Romneycare.....
And the Boston Herald ran this story? Unbelieveable!!!
We spend more than that every year to educate the children of illegal aliens, forced by the Federal government.
In spite of $400 million in the last few years to supplement the Feds’ border security, nearly that much in a year to keep illegal aliens who’ve broken other laws in jail.
The Feds still don’t allow enough border agents to make sure they can respond when we’re invaded.
The Feds bring busloads of illegals they caught in Arizona and let them go at small town Texas border crossings.
The Obama administration just dumped nearly **400,000** deportation cases in the last year, hundreds in Houston, who knows how many in Dallas, San Antonio, etc.

And they lied about it to cover it up:

Why are we having deportation *hearings* in the first place?
It’s not the Governor’s job, it’s the Feds’ job. He’s spurred on increased border security.
$93 Million last year in Massachusetts. Just think what that figure would be in Texas.
Texas doesn’t have state funding for illegal aliens. This article is talking about Mass Health, the Romney care scheme.
The individual hospitals in Texas eat the cost - all of us do. There’s something called “Disproportionate Share” payments from Medicare to hospitals because of EMTALA, but that’s due to be phased out. There’s also a fund for trauma care from the State.
In the end, though, the costs go up because of unpaid bills.
I live in ma.
This guy is now a hero to me.
93 Mil?
Yea right, multiply that by 10 at least for EVERYTHING.
Ma is a small NE state.
How much is the entire USA being bled obama?
HOW MUCH?
Gee, only $1691 per illegal. Isn’t that a cheap enough price to pay for the healthcare of the people who mow your lawn? < / sarcasm >
The Herald’s not the Globe.
“With Rick Perry in TX, you got to wonder what the figure is there $600 mil?”
This gets old. You know, it seems by now, intelligent people would stop bashing Rick Perry for managing our state’s illegal entry population in the best way we can. Illegals are here. They are in every state in the union . They are a problem for every state in the union because the federal government has failed miserably. Not every governor is running for president but every governor oversees the same problem in his/her state. The costs are overwhelming for every state. Ours are larger because we are vulnerable to illegal entry from California, Arizona, and New Mexico....not to mention our own border towns. Every governor tries to do something effective but they get screwed by the Feds. I’m sick of Perry being accused of embracing illegals by giving them free subsidies for college. It’s not true. He has NEVER supported illegal immigration. Critics act like people sneaking across the border via the deserts or in the trunks of cars or thru sewers and tunnels are all headed to Texas for college tuition. The facts are, a college-bound student must pass entrance exams just as any student does. They must have spent the previous three years in Texas. They must have graduated from a Texas high school. And they must be accepted to an institute of higher learning....and then they are permitted to pay tuition in the same manner as their fellow students inTexas. Anyone who thinks Texans would stand by and pay tuition for their own kids while illegals attend free is missing a key part of their brain. Our whole country is in trouble. Finally, governors are stepping forward and admitting it. In the end, Perry and the Texas legislature will be the example for how to problem solve. I haven’t heard a definitive solution from Mr Romney. Mr Cain’s solution is to let them fry on an electrified fence? Sorry, but the people who would be fried are not the people who are begging for in-state tuition. What’s your solution to the whole invasion problem?
We need a gagle of these patriot lawyers in DC to coincide with the new people in town come 2012. Most of all we need an investigative body that will bring charges on all who were involved with the attempted overthrow
of this nation
Free bus fare to the Admissions Office at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. That’s my solution. I’ll donate the first ticket...

..... I too live in MA and that was my immediate reaction as well. Nothing is on the level in this Commonwealth.
We need to get to the point of having a primary challenge for every career politician. It is the only message they understand.
Clean the Career Politician Swamp, no matter the party.
All of us laughing at Massachusetts paying 93 million. Dont forget Rommnycare is half paid by the feds so the rest of us are covering 43 million. Unless the real number is 186 million spent
The Herald is slightly more likely to cover these stories. The Globe? Never.
